Great review! The petrol facet comes if one goes hard on the trigger (I mean, 5 spritzes or more). Less than that, it's basically cardamom and powdery vanilla. Naxos has a similar behaviour: is basically that floral honey scent, but after four or five sprays, it's only tobacco.
Hi AC! Interesting comparison, enjoyed it a lot. I tested Invasion Barbare only recently, together with other well known MDCI scents Barbier de Tanger and Chypre Palatin. BdT is another take at barbershop and it was my favorite.
Keeping in mind the similarities of the two fragrances & the prevalent weather conditions it has to be : 1. The Dramatics - I wanna go outside in the rain. 2. The Dramatics - Do what you want to do
Absolutely fabulous songs mate :). Never heard of them and after your comment I have had a serendipitous discovery. God bless you mate :). Btw I do not know if it came across in the review or not, the two scents are not similar at all.
great review AC So wanna know ur job working vlog , because ur well talking and selling skills. and the best of all is ur solid not follow the hipe train brilliant taste.
Thank you John, and I am a management consultant by profession and yes I get involved in selling ideas but unfortunately I do not have a professional Vlog.
Thank you Charlie, and, if this does become your first HdP then it would be a pretty fine one. Be advised that the 1725 isn't a best mode fragrance, and if you need beast mode then please do go for Invasion Barbare.
Another great, thorough review, AC. I get a much darker color impression from my Barbare "expression." Heart Histoire de Parfums - despite performance on 1828 Jules Verne.
My view of 1828 pretty much comports w fragrantica-users but for the longevity. I don't think it is much like 1725. 1828 has no sweetness to my nose (excepting how candy-like notes are), no dandifying, modern tonka or vanilla. 1828 has "Fresher" barbershop-vibe with more spice, dry woods than herbs, moss. Eucalyptus in citrus opening recalls shaving foam menthol, aftershave zing. Non-shouty, pleasant Pepper, Nutmeg mid merges with "toothy," "textured," woody base. One of my favorite note pyramids (I'd replace the eucalyptus). I wish it would perform better for me; one of my favorite office scents along with Creed Himalaya clone. Maybe you still haven't smelled Ambre 114, some others - there is a reasonably priced sample pack for you post your taste?
I stillllll haven't tried MDCI invasion barbare. I must. I love soapy clean fragrances, especially in the mornings. Histoires has two on my list to try, 1899 and 1725! What other fragrances from Histoires would you suggest I get my nose on? Also I have never heard of anyone mentioning any other MDCI fragrances. Have you tried any others? Particularly Ambre Topkapi and Chypre Palatin?
Kyle, of the MDCIs I have tried 5 of their Mens fragrances and love each and every one of them, they are truly brilliant. Its owned by Jovoy whose fragrances I adore. I will review CP and AT by MDCI soon mate. In terms of HdP I would add 1740, Rare Fidelis and Prolixie to the list mate, they are outstanding !
@@ACSmellsGood thank you so much for your suggestions! Btw, who do you have winning the world chess championship? Magnus or Fabi? They are playing brilliant counterplay and no advantages are turning into victories. I think Magnus will win but I've been impressed with Fabi's preperation
As it happens you were right, Magnus just won!. He is a better player of the two but I was quite impressed with Fabi's fortitude. I am so pleased to see a discussion on Chess mate, what a sport it is.
@@ACSmellsGood I was a little disappointed with Magnus' aggression, but I think he just knew he had the advantage in rapid and blitz and played not to lose. He took advantage of the way the match is set up. Fair play to him.
Great comparison! Both are fine scents, but I prefer 1725 Casanova to Invasion Barbare-the former is so smoothly blended and pleasant, while the latter has an off scent to my nose reminiscent of cooked shellfish. 🤷🏻♂️ I personally prefer Sartorial and Azzaro Pour Homme over both as my preferred barber shop/fougère scents.
Peter, I second your thoughts on 1725 and yes IB has a slightly off putting side to it but I did not get it in the dry down. I can see you like classical fougeres and I am the same. I would highly recommend you sample Vintage Paco Rabbane Pour Homme and Tom Ford Vert d encens ( I have reviewed this one). You might really like them .
Kris, I get about 5-6 hours but it quietens down after about 2 hours so I spray 4 under my shirt and since the silage is fantastic I get reminded about the scent all day (~ 12 hours).
@@ACSmellsGood Okay, I get similar performance on my skin and to be honest firstly thought it sucks but after couple of wearings I take it as an asset.
I got and love both ❤ really love your reviews but i have to disagree on your description of Invasion Barbare I don't get any animalic scent... to me its A dressed up, shaved & groomed Version of Fahrenheit!
I think Animalic notes do not smell like an animal, this is what people get wrong. Animalic notes add depth and complexity to a note which is normally beyond range of traditional notes. It takes a lot of experience to detect an animalic note in a fragrance, you have to be a seriously experienced nose !
Thank you for the great video. Your explanation of the differences between these two was excellent.
Thank you Steve, delighted you found this useful :)
Love your jumper! Spring like. Bring on warmer weather!
hahaha thank you. I am the same as you mate cant wait for spring :)
Just the video i was looking for
Excellent breakdown on each fragrance. Will order a sample of Invasion Barbare. Looking for something for the early to late evening's. Thx.
what a profound description, #Master.
Thank you Joe, very kind of you my friend, and as usual great to see you :).
Fantastic review thanks.
Great review sir as always, what a coincidence I just bought 1725 today , will give it a try and update about my first impression
Thank you Rohit and would love to hear your views on 1725. I wish you enjoy it as much as I do.

The only HdP I own. Such a beautiful barbershop blend. Love that almond. Awesome review my friend. 👍🏻
Thank you mate and the blend is just amazing ! Try prolixie as well its quite a stunner :).

Thanks Stefan and yes I recently ordered 5 other MDCIs and to be frank I like all of them. I will be reviewing them one by one mate :).
Yes!! my man AC ,out here doing the Lord's work in the fragrance community with a proper thorough review.
Thank you my man! your comment touched my heart mate :).
What sound track would you choose for this video pal?

Thank you Michael.
Well spoken fine review. This might just be my first HDP fragrance. Take care.
