I love him so much that I always reread some part of the novel and never get tired of it. I wish I had a friend like him, that would be enough.
I think WWX says about the Lan clan that they are cold on the outside, but are capable of loving truly and deeply. Which is exactly how LWJ is. Lan XiChen as well, the way he cared about Meng Yao, to the point of not being willing to believe all the bad stuff Meng Yao did; brotherly love or more than that, it doesn't matter, pretty sure XiChen would have done the same as WJ, should the situations be reversed. Even Lan QiRen, despite being so dictated by rules, he really cares about WJ and XC, and he is not evil, just a product of being a Lan and recieving the typical clan education. Also, the only mother in the Lan clan ever mentioned is the mom of WJ and XC, they boys might have been different if she had the chance to raise them and not die at young age.
How can Lan Zhan not fall too deep with this guy who brazenly said "what i have, I will share it half with you!" Did this guy realize that he used his flirting line to a guy instead of a girl😂 wei wuxian was actually doomed to like lan zhan back then as well~

And he never had the time to stop and think about the fact that he might have loved him since then due to everything that happened later on. Probs why he realized he had feeling so late into the story. Or maybe he had some sort of like but it only really got ignited into "love-love" in his second life. I like the manhua chapters through 116-120, after the yi city incident. Wei Ying really thought "something ignited in me" and honestly- I like to think his subconcious realized he loves Lan Zhan but he himself didn't. And he never really thought hard enough to put a name to the feeling itself until much later. Nevertheless, I love MDZS so much- WangXian seem like the most normal couple you could ever find and I love how normal they are.
