Loved seeing your sewing room, I also have more fabric than I’m ever going to need, I was am a patch worker as well. This is the year I am going to sell/giveaway a lot of my fabrics. Look forward to seeing your collaboration with French seams x
Thank you! Yes I think we will feel better for being a bit fabric lighter! 😂. I’ve definitely reached the stage where I actually don’t want to bring any more into my sewing room! Good luck with sorting yours too. 😊
I use a wash away tape to stabilise the hems on a stretchy knit. Keeps them nice while sewing and no wavy hems! It's on a roll and you don't need to iron it to stick. Its double sided and about ¼ inch wide. It's called wonder tape by Prym. t's also brilliant to hold zip tape in place before sewing..
Ah thank you so much Michelle! I feel better after a tidy up. Now just need to get on top of what fabrics I have and start sewing them up!! Hope you’re getting on okay with yours. xx
Fabulous choices in fabrics and patterns Sarah! I’m with you on the need for a fabric ban but it’s just so hard not to look at all the pretty things! Wishing much success in the New Year! 🎆
😂 thank you, yes I’m trying not to look so I don’t know what I missing!! 🫣. I’ve unsubscribed from most of the emails and am definitely not looking at online shops, but I do still love watching vlogs which are always a source of inspiration!
Love that you are going through your fabric and pattern stash and making your plans from that. Such a good idea. Most ours will be from our stash too. Mind you I'm (Kelly) such a new sewist my pattern stash isn't that huge. Yet 😂
Love your sewing room. I’ve done the same as you this year , I’ve selected the patterns that I want to focus on and I’m going to try and stick to it, I’ve told myself that I’m not buying any more fabric until I’ve sewn some of my stash up, honestly it’s so so hard but I’m going to power through it lol 😂 you watch next week I’ll be messaging saying “ I just had to buy the fabric it was on offer” xx
Thank you! 😂 I know it’s not going to be easy, but I’m genuinely looking forward to the feeling we will have when we’ve used lots of our stash up, I think I’ll almost feel like I’ve cheated my stash if I buy any in the near future! 🤦♀️😂
Thank you!! Yes I agree about the brocade, it would be perfect for an evening jacket or coat, but I’m not sure how much wear it would get in my wardrobe. I do like the idea of a smart evening jacket though 🤔 😂 Actually it may still be kept for something like that as I do have other fabrics for the bomber dress, I’m going to make a video and see what comes out! 😂 indecisive as always 🫣🤪
What a gorgeous sewing room. I also love your Luz jacket. I have recently bought this pattern and am currently looking for some appropriate fabric. I also have quite a large stash (not as much as you though!) However, I live in rural France and the nearest fabric shop is just miles away, so I 'need' a stash to shop when inspiration strikes. I have though got much better at just buying the stuff that I love and am unlikely to go off so I do keep it under control. Sort of...
Ooh sounds like yoy have the perfect stash excuse!! I have to say that is one thing I do appreciate, if I get the urge to make something up asap, I usually have something which will work and more often than not, the notions too! 🫣😂. Hope you find the fabric and enjoy sewing the Luz, it’s such a fab pattern. Don’t forget that a lot of people myself included found that the pockets are very low. I took an inch out of the top piece and added an inch to the bottom piece to rise the pockets up by one inch if that makes sense!
Ah what a lovely idea thank you! Then we can share them on Instagram, I see you have a page? Once the Pogonips are out of the way, it’s next on the list!! 🥰. Message me on Instagram and I’ll let you know when I’m starting. I think it will need a toile first… 🤔
Love seeing your sewing room and stashes. We did a vlog on our sewing spaces last week too. Wow you have so much fabric. So easily done. Currently on a fabric ban until the knitting and stitching show. 😂
Ooh fab, have just subscribed, look forward to catching up with your vlogs!! Ah yes it’s a good idea to go on a fabric diet before indulging at the shows I think! 😂😂
Lovely winter white coat and scarf hood cosy neck 👍as well.😊 great looking dress in leopard on your model . I think you do need to use your fabrics up now as easy to get overwhelmed with materials etc. If that is possible 😂xx Lovely sewing room as well
Love your sewing room , and it looks pretty organised already ! The reward for diving into your fabric stash is you’ll probably rediscover some hidden gems - such a lovely feeling . I really enjoy your vlogs and am looking forward to seeing what you come up with next , thankyou for your inspiration
Yes thank you, that’s exactly why I’m happy to be rediscovering the stash and revisiting why I loved most of those fabrics in the first place!! Most of them also had a plan and pattern attached to them too, so will be interesting to see if they still work for me. Thanks ☺️
Hi Sarah! What a great way to use up scrap fabric, this would be great when walking the dog 😀 my sewing room organisation is always work in progress as I start tidying up then order more fabric /patterns!! Love your sewing room ❤
Ah thank you!! Yes I actually find it near impossible to keep on top of my sewing room, I’m such a messy sewer! Yes what a good idea to use the hooded scarf for dog walking! 🥰
Another great video. Thank you. Have you seen the Minerva post by Made By Liesl? She has hacked a sweater pattern to make a split front longline sweater. It looks great and I think it’s probably right up your street.
Ah thank you so much!!! I’ve just checked that out on Instagram, it looks gorgeous and she has a reel on how she did it!! Definitely want to make one now, thank you!!
I forgot to say in my earlier comment… I fuse my sweater knit hems with bondaweb before I sew them to stop them from stretching and going wobbly. It’s a technique I learnt from Linda Lee. This us the link to the video ruclips.net/video/GARmdK1IWgk/видео.htmlsi=sla1kzEtvoPATqAH
That Bomber Dress is going to be awesome. I love the Sevenberry fabric for the Pogonip, too. I love your sewing room. I am fortunate to have a fair sized sewing room, too, but my storage isn't great. I need to address that this year. I also need to sort out my scraps, which are taking me hostage!
Ah thank you!! Yes I also have a problem with scraps!! I usually love the fabric, so want to keep hold of it to use for something else, but storing it all gets out of hand!
Love your selection of fabrics and yes your sewing room is great, looks fairly organised already! Hope you manage to work through some of those patterns in waiting lol ❤
Thank you so much!! A friend gave me the spool wreath, she got it from a small independent boutique or craft market type place I think!! I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to make one though if that helps?!! I may do a close up of it as a few people have asked before. x
What a great space for your sewing Sarah. Lovely fabric and colour choices you always have. What is the pattern and fabric of the animal print dress behind you? It is lovely.
Ah thank you so much!! It’s the papercut patterns array dress which is great because it can be made in a knit or woven fabric. The fabric is a drapey viscose jersey from I think rainbow fabrics a long time ago, sorry!! x
Love your fabulous sewing room and fabric collection. Storing in plastic boxes is a great idea to be able to see and admire your collection 😊
Thank you!! Yes it is definitely helpful, I’ve literally just been looking through them for a fabric without having to empty them!
What a lovely sewing room, you are very well organised! It will be so satisfying clearing it up and making the fabrics into whatever you pick.
Ah thank you! It did look like this a couple of weeks ago!! I should really have had some ‘before’ photos!!
I meant didn’t look like this!! 🤦♀️
The jacket and matching hood is absolute perfection ❤ what a fab pattern 🤍
😂 thanks, it’s a bit different isn’t it?!!
Ooh, Sarah, I love those v spilt jumpers! What a great idea.
Ah thank you, yes I’d love to get one made up soon.
Wow absolutely love the look of the bomber dress, not seen it before would look fab in that fabric too m😍. Fab sewing room too x
Thank you! I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to make it! 🤦♀️. Once the Pogonips are out of the way, it’s next on the list 😂
I really enjoyed seeing your fabric. So many beautiful fabrics. I would have liked to have a closer look at your sewing machines
Thank you! I will definitely be doing a more in depth tour at some point once I get my fabrics sorted!! 🥰

I recently made the hooded scarf too, I love mine & want to make more 😀
Thank you so much, yes it’s a lovely pattern isn’t it? 🥰
Hi Sarah, that brocade fabric is beautiful and would make a fab evening coat or jacket, it is so gorgeous. Love your sewing room❤
