1st qtr Macabbi started executing perfectly the basket that we all love. First minutes for CSKA were a bit erratic but then nervous turn control and good shots when Papaloukas entered the game and played PG. Both teams playing good D but after the TO in the first minutes CSKA went a step ahead playing a very active 2-3 defense, creating issues and turnovers for Macabbi who, in the other hand, found a couple of 3s. Score tied 18-18.
3rd qtr Erratic start for Maccabi, with consecutive turnovers; lucky for CSKA with 2+1 and getting the 3 the zone concedes. Maccabi's back to 1-1 D and the game reaches its intensity peak. Tons of contact, hard fouls, 50-50 balls, players going to the floor, almost every possession ends with free throws, with CSKA by 11. Great finals atmosphere. In the craziness, Maccabi finds transition points and manages to tie the game with 2 minutes remaining. 1:02:43 I'm not so sure about the offensive call here but that's poor decision in the 4-1 fastbreak. Macabbi has the final shot to get the lead but they executed poorly, CSKA 49-48
4th qtr 1:35:02 First two mins CSKA dominates by defending hard (Macabbi is still locked in the half-court offense) and executing paciently and finding good 3s. 1:35:18 nice sequence: wrong defense rotation gives the open 3, then the Rajon Rondo's signature fake CUTE Both teams defend the rim very hard, that's gun to watch. Averaging the quarter, Macabbi manages to make a quick run with their showtime style and ties the game at 55. First lead change with another pull up three by Solomon. Next posession CSKA takes the lead back. Great game. Final 3 mins were a synthesis of the game, CSKA controlling and Macabbi having difficulties in the half-court, hitting desperation 3s at the end.
Willie Solomon, Derrick Sharp, Anthony Parker, Jamie Arnold, Maceo Baston, Nikola Vujcic Cüneyt Erden, Ömer Onan, İbrahim Kutluay, Mirsad Türkcan, Semih Erden, Oğuz Savaş Bekir Yarangüme, Caner Öner Ergin Ataman
2nd qtr Not much transition offense as mid-court dominates the game. I have the feeling that this is more uncomfortable for Macabbi. Both teams hitting mid-range shots, that's a sing of a past era. Without Papaloukas CSKA turns back to 1-1 defense. Very even game. Highlight at 39:35 buzzer beater from Parker w/1s left OMG. CSKA aggressiveness generates critical turnovers that help them take the lead. They seem hunger than Macabbi who even got a 5 sec violation. 35-30

Say the same was in 2008. ))))
In 2008 CSKA was much better. I am not denying at all. In 2006 Maccabi should have won the final game. CSKA played a dirty game
