That part did sound exciting and somewhat funny from Fantasia. She currently should be on the jury of those realities. Although she is just much more than that and must create only good music. IMHO!

It's way too soon to bring it back it's barely been gone and it defiantly wasn't gone long enough for people to forget how tired it had become the UK X Factor has just drawn to a close but that too had got the same that's the problem when you over do something too much of anything makes you sick both shows viewing figures were declining each year and talent wasn't great either however Simon Cowell revamped the X Factor and it was different all together making it was a huge success unless idol come back with only two familiar things the judges and the contestants everything else brand spanking new they MIGHT be on to something.

I think Katy Perry will make a good judge for the same reason that Nicki Minaj made a good judge. While I do believe people like Lionel Ritchie, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Smokie Robinson, Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, and others along that list should be judges, I can only imagine how singing in front of them can make one pass out. Katy Perry, like Minaj, I feel offer that relatability and eases them a bit and brings out their personality.

It's not about being talented, it's about recognizing and developing talent. The reason the earlier years produced so many superstars is because 2 out of 3 of the judges were not artists, they were producers and A&R so they could effectively develop and pick out true superstars. When Idol turned to just having singers as judges, they've been significantly less successful partially because the show becomes about the judges and not the contestants.

That's my point. Just because you are a talented singer, doesn't mean you can recognize star power. The last few years of Idol are proof of that. Promoters and managers after the show always try to get their artists big of course, but the big difference is that in the early days of Idol you had that support DURING the show and it made a huge difference. The proof is in the pudding, the star power developed in early days of Idol does not compare to what happened in the later days when they went The Voice route of getting famous singers to judge instead of industry executives. Plus, artists/singers often are not as critical of singers because they are worried about keeping up their image so that's also part of it.

She made a statement about people trying to use the Bible as justification to attack others ( she used the LGBTQ community as an example) but she was saying when it comes to the Bible how we all fall short and should stop judging others. Somehow people with low reading comprehension took that as a dig at LGBTQ.
