Thus far, OLD GODS OF APPALACHIA is like an heirloom quilt -- stitched a few generations back, and it's the one quilt out of several you're reluctant to take out of the cedar chest because people don't sleep well under its weight. Its squares and patches are scraps of cloth in troubling colors and disturbing textures ... and when you step back a few paces and see the overall pattern, it becomes even more troubling.
I continue to be so impressed with the writing and production -- and the overall vision of this project. Thank you so much!
So very true. I miss those old quilts. My grandma made one out of old coats.
nice
Now this is the Appalachia that I know and love. The one outsiders don't know about. This rightly ought to have at least a million views.
We have similar numbers on podcast services which are our main platform but thank you family
I'm not getting much done since finding this fabulous podcast.
I feel really bad for that poor teacher
Humming the tune of Amazing Grace was a nice touch. It did a lot to bridge the gap between the unbelievable events of the story's setting and the real life setting, if that makes sense. The nostalgia and pride associated to the song are distorted in a wonderfully dark stroke of the imagination.
Leaving a comment cos this deserves much more. My hats off to the creator(s?)
Great writing on these episodes so far, I am really impressed. I have read so much worse from authors that are so much more well known. In fact the best horror stories I have had in a very long time. This is a hidden gem.
The Cult of the First Black Breath rises.
This is the one time I really hate ads. Right in the middle of the creatures deacription, AD! My poor heart
I leave a votive thanks
In this media ritual prayer
May RUclips gods smile dark smiles

if anyone has drawn fanart of the weird dog(s) i would absolutely LOVE to see it
Is the mountain a god?
Mountains were always thus
Big rock
it's made of what's been done to it and sacrificed in it....i think
There is a concept going back a LONG ways in real-world mysticism known as a "genus loci' (pronounced jee-nus low-see); the protective, living spirit of a physical place. Some of them could have been strong enough in their time to be gods in their own right...
