Everytime I see scotland I go I could literally spend my entire life photographing it and get images and be happy with it i need to visit some day.
I’ve watched this video several times now. Of all the wonderful photo vloggers, whose work I appreciate greatly, you and Robin are my favorites.
Thanks Bart, so glad you liked it as it is also one of my personal favourites as it focuses on the beauty of the landscape and not the photographers.
an absolute masterpiece! With the atmospheric music and lack of narrative, this made for a wonderful experience - just sit back and enjoy!
Thank you Robert, that is very kind of you.
I love your videos, and I love Robin’s. Beautiful.
Thanks Chris.
A picture speaks a thousand words. These images speak volumes. Amazing.
Best photography video I’ve seen.
One of your best. Meditative and educational at the same time.
Thank you Om.
I felt great watching this video. thank you Steve.
Thanks Tiago, I use it to remind me of just how good the trip was.
I have watched this video more than a dozen times and it still doesn't pall. It is, for me, one of the best videos I have seen on RUclips and I cannot speak highly enough about it. A standout amongst so much clickbait and dross. Thanks.
I’m glad you like this video Andrew as it is also my favourite video by a considerable margin. I’m so glad I just enjoyed the trip and captured enough video to make a record of it, not recording multiple vlogs was a breath of fresh air.
Stunning Steve, bangers, every single one! I live in the Tirolean Alps and as stunning as it is, Scotland is the land of my grandmother, grandfather and mother and your photos just draw me right in to a deeper place, beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
Unique presentation; top drawer; simply wonderful.
Thanks Frank.
My dream place to visit! This one pure soul and very special. I grew up with a family near me, all from Scotland. Glasgow but originally the older ones from the West Coast. I canna say how much this brings so many thoughts, of an ice Age, of conquests, of lost people and a beauty that is timeless. Ya done fine! possibly one the best !
It’s an amazing place Jason, my absolute favourite location and this is also my favourite video.
Very enjoyable and well made video. Thankyou Steve. What a wonderful time you must have had.
Thank you, it was a wonderful trip.
Pure excellence....
Absolutely outstanding, a sheer joy from beginning to end. Well done.😊
Thanks Neil.
Wundervoll. Die Landschaft und die Bilder. Einfach magisch. Mit den besten Grüßen aus Bayern. 👍
Wonderful. The landscape and the pictures. Simply magical. Best regards from Bavaria. 👍
Thank you very much Michael.
The melodious sound of your voice was not missing from this charming vid. The images stood on their own. Nicely done.
Wow! beautiful.
Beautiful video. I enjoyed the time lapses, colour digital panoramas and of course, the black and white film shots. Fantastic.
Thank you Jonny.
Hi Steve, You and Robin had a great week up there in Scotland. Just fabulous Shots and Vlog
Thank David, we did get lucky and managed to find some great locations.
Beautiful Steve, what a week and the weather cooperated, best to you and Robin regards Kevin Flynn
Thanks Kevin, we were very lucky indeed.
Wow ! Fantastic photos !!
I always enjoy your videos Steve and this one was exceptional - pure magic!
Stephen
Thanks Stephen.
Beautiful.
Absolutely stunning shots off to Scotland next week and if I could get one shot half as good as any of these I would be over the moon!! Simply stunning!!
Thanks Chris, I’m sure you’ll have a great trip.
Masterfully done, both the images and the video! That panoramas at the end is the crowning touch.
Thank you Ricardo.
Brilliant video Steve. It made me realise you shot much more video than I thought and we visited far more locations than I remembered. It was great to watch and bring back the memories. Thank you.
Thanks Robin, it seems odd to compress a whole week into less than 13 minutes but I didn’t feel it needed to be any longer.
Oh - Such beauty - Thank you for sharing this beautiful land and its light.
Thank you Joseph.
Im chromecasting this to the tv - i paused at 2:04 just to take in that epic shot. Brilliant!!! Love it... well seen and lovely layering!! Thanks for sharing
That was the most pleasant 13 minutes of my day! Thank you Steve.
Thank Monty.
An epic adventure. You have such beautiful landscape on the other side of the pond.
Thank you, we are indeed blessed with a varied landscape (and weather).
Gorgeous!
Everything is perfect Steve.
Thanks Peter.
Some stunners there Steve. That pink panorama is incredible. I'll be heading up there again later when the midges are gone and this has really inspired me now!
I’m sure you will have a good trip Joe, even Summer would work at either end of the day providing you don’t need to sleep 🙂
Good lord dude!!! Off the clock!! Needs no words, images speak for themselves best video yet!!
In fact need to watch it again
Thank you 😀
@@SteveONions Steve do you do the panoramic shots in camera or in photoshop? I've never tried the panoramic mode in my mft cameras
One of the best videos I’ve seen on RUclips.
Thanks Michael, that’s very kind of you.
This is one one the most wonderful videos I've ever seen. Beautiful, tasteful and impressive. Indeed, a masterpiece!
Thank you 🙂
Just magical!
Thanks Isabel.
Sit back and relax
Feel the waves wash over your back
In the melting sun
Looking at the clouds reflecting all the pinks and blues
Over the blooming hill, echoing white noise of chirps and crickets
Listen to the trickling of the slow water over the smooth rocks
Feel a warm wind brush your face
With your eyes closed
Enjoying the radiating warmth
And the soothing crackling of a log fire
Or sit and admire the shimmering spray
Of a waterfall smoothly crashing into the water of a sky kissed lake
Sunlight dancing through the vapor
Rainbows jumping through every droplet
Listen to the pitter patter of the rain, against a tin roof
Inside a warm cabin
Drifting to sleep
Soon to wake to the song birds chorus
And the blissful sun
Really not sure what to say. Your best work. And that's saying something. The most beautiful video i've seen. An amazing hit rate. You really did a beautiful place justice
Thank you, it was an amazing week with some memorable locations.
A lot of great shots!!
Absolutely lovely. Easily some of the best fine art pics. My personal favs are the BW shots. Viewing these are like meditation for the soul. Thanks
You’re very welcome 😊
Wonderful video. So much lovely work!
Thank you Dan.
Wow , only just watched this Steve , beautiful video and some stunning images , you had some fantastic conditions up there
Love those panoramas
Thanks Andrew, it was a great trip.
Almost bought a tear to my eye watching that video. Epic stuff! What an inspirational video, possibly the best one yet! Thank you so much for posting. Love your stuff!!!
Thank you Andy.
If I could grace my own channel with something half this good I'd be very happy - a simply stunning video Steve that is without a doubt the best I've seen from any UK landscape photographer.
Thank you Andy, that is very kind of you to say.
Thanks Steve, that was quite special.
Stunning 👌
Thank you.
I hope the Scottish Tourist Board are paying you for this video !! Looks like a wonderful week . :)
Absolutely stunning Steve!!! Beautiful
Thanks Rick, I’m glad you liked it.
What a stunningly beautiful video. You both must have enjoyed this trip so much. The photographs are just stunning works of art and memories your photo adventure in this epic country 🏴👌
Thanks Andy, it certainly was a trip to remember.
The photos speak for themselves Steve 👌
Absolutely wonderful. Well done Steve and thank you.
Thanks Dave.
Absolutely stunning, great work, it is an amazing area.
Thank you Alun, we were very lucky to have such a good week.
The views are a little different to my home stamping ground around Delamere forest. Although I do love the forest early morning.
Fantastic Film Steve, You must have had a great time.
It was a great trip thanks Stephen.
Absolutely excellent Steve! One of the best video's I've seen from anyone on you tube.
Thank you Richard.
gorgeous :)
Very beautiful & enjoyable vlog. Thanks for sharing your vision.
Thank you Michael.
Enjoyed that very relaxing music and some fantastic photography thanks.
Thank you David.
Super beautiful photographs and video. Would like to be there.
It’s a wonderful place Ruud.
Thank you! ...A delightful twelve minutes (or so). Encore.
Steve, I've been meaning to tell you that your utube channel is my very favorite. I love your style, delivery, humor, and everything about the way you produce your vlogs. Very straightforward, no nonsense, just a pure joy to watch. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the kind comments.
Ola Steve!
Astonishing photos and brilliant video! Such an amazing vibe! Thank you!
Lovely
That was just brilliant! Thank you Steve.
I am glad you enjoyed it Kevin.
and a very productive trip too, love the panoramics, great work Steve.
Thank you Carl.
You've been to some of my favourite places . Looks like you had cracking weather too!
We were very lucky indeed Thom, not a spot of rain in the whole week.
I’ve been working in this big dirty crowded city for four days and claustrophobia is setting in. Seeing these images has me on the edge of tears.
Thank you, I don’t think I could wish for a kinder comment.
Steve this really helped me get through a tough assignment. 1000 miles later and I’m back home in Florida with a cat on my lap. Thank you again.
Wonderful scenery nicely captured! Thanks a lot.
Breathtaking 🙌🏻
Thank you Gary.
Very nicely done Steve. Loved the background music. It was really appropriate I thought.
Thank you again Philip.
While I enjoy listening to you most of the time, this was a wonderful way to start the day enjoying my coffee, listening to the beautiful music (and the occasional ocean waves and bleating of sheep!), and looking at truly inspiring landscapes and landscape art. Thank you!
Thanks Robert, it didn’t feel appropriate to add any dialogue on this one.
Great video.
Absolutely beautiful imagery!
I have been there in the past and the landscapes are magical. All I can say is you've made them more so! Gorgeous video and wonderful photography. Thank you!
Thank you Charles.
Wonderful stuff Steve. Many thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tim.
There's a time for talking and a time to let the images do the talking. Well judged and beautiful photography as always. Thanks for sharing.
wow ! beautiful !
Hi Steve, a great vid away from your normal style. Very enjoyable, thanks. We had a great week around Skye and the Kyle of Lochalsh. The weather was very agreeable . Was going to have a go at vloging the trip, but haven't got the hang of the little vid camera yet. So will have to save it for the West coast of Ireland.
Cheers
Diz
Thanks Diz and I hope Ireland is good to you too.
Steve, this reminds me that I have to go back to Scotland again. Beautiful work. Your channel is one of the best you can see out there, without discussion. Muchas gracias!!!
Thank you Miguel.
This was a delight to watch thank you so much for your wonderful footage that captures your trip. The photographs were wonderful and of some of my favourite locations ;D It looks like you were blessed with some nice light. Thank you so much for sharing this masterpiece . Atb :D Teddy PS I have just returned from the Scottish Highlands and this video has made me want to go back already !
Thank you, it is truly a special place. I hope you came back with some good images yourself.
@@SteveONions Thought we had till we watched this last night ;D
Sometimes you just don't need words. Cracking stuff Steve. 😀👍😀
Thanks Julian, it was your Scotland video earlier this year that gave me the idea for the format.
@@SteveONions Excellent to hear!! :-)
Beautiful, danke!
Some great images from one of my favourites places in the British Isles.
Thanks Paul.
Well, sunshine and blue skies in Scotland - incredible! ;-) And I'm missing someone trying to pronounce all these names … ;-)
The image around 8:00 - love it! I thought "Well, those two [insert correct term here] in the background should be part of the composition …" And boom, there it is! And I love the music, works very well with your images. Edit: I especially love the last piece, this soothing three-four time that has something of a slow minuet …
Thanks Christian, I am glad you liked it.
Steve a wonderful video, this is the best Ive seen on RUclips, to me this is what photography should be about. Thank you
Thank you Floyd, I’m glad you liked it.
Really enjoyable Steve. You are very lucky to have someone to share such a trip with. Fantastic conditions you got too. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks James, it was a wonderful trip that I will never forget.
Steve O'Nions yes I bet. I had to read the description to see if you’d done all that in one trip. You were blessed with the weather. Could be a years worth of shoots there. I enjoyed how you produced that video too. Tried a similar approach once myself but nowhere near as effective as this. Really enjoyable. Thanks.
Thanks James. We were pretty luck weather wise, especially for sunrise which worked on 5 of the 7 days. Sunsets were largely absent but overall I have nothing to do complain about.
PS - I did enjoy watching your vlogs.
Steve O'Nions thank you Steve. Yes it’s makes such a difference when you invest in a trip and the weather is on your side. You got some wonderful images. I had a week in Torridon last October and it was dreadful everyday except the morning of my drive home. Just give an excuse to revisit I guess. I’m hoping to get back into creating videos. I’d like to document my journey with my Hasselblad 500 series and what I’ve leaner shooting film for the last year or so. Hopefully I’ll be able to put something together soon. Keep up the good work. If you ever head over to Crosby Beach let me know as I’m only a short walk away.
I love 6x6 work James, especially mono. I’ll take you up on the offer of a day out in the future.
Wonderful, thank you.
Thanks Bill.
brilliant photos great I must go to Scotland and it for my self .I have Scottish ancestors isle of sky.wonderful content a fan who is a yank.
It’s an amazing place and I’ve not stopped thinking about it since the trip.
This is phenomenal. How did I not find your channel sooner? Time to binge =)
Thank you 😀
It seems like you were on a roll :-) excellent work the panos were among some of my favourites. I’ve done this route (a few times) several years back and seeing your work brought back nice memories; I wish I had spent more time photographing each location as your shots abundantly demonstrate there are plenty of gems to be collected along the way. You put a smile on my face. Tnx for sharing. Perhaps a future video could discuss a few of the shots (e.g. gear, time, location). Carry on the good work.
Thanks Djmitris. I was unfamiliar with the area and felt constrained in terms of vlogging so I decided at the start to focus on the photography. I agree that looking at the images in more detail would be useful.
These are truly amazing Steve. Especially the panos and the BnW photos!
Thanks James, i thought it would be hard to edit down the final list of images but the good ones rose to the top quite quickly.
Different for you Steve, but an absolutely stunning video and some beautiful images. We do live in an awesome country and capturing it`s beauty on camera is a wonderful way to see it. It is certainly a trip I would have loved to have been a part of, keep up the good work.
Thanks Jeff.
Hi Steve, just sublime!
Richard.
Hard to put in words Steve the images and cinematic content was awesome, inspiring.
Thank you Gary, I am glad you liked it.
Really nice!
Great work Steve, really enjoyed this!
Thanks Tim.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said? An absolutely amazing video with stunning images Steve.
Thank you Mark.
Beautifully done.
Thanks Edwin.
Steve, you definitely highlighted the beauty and ruggedness of Scotland. Got some really gorgeous images. Missed your great explanations, however. I take it you were photographing with your 4/3 camera. Although, some of your B&W had a very film look. Everything really enjoyable in this film. Loved it!!!
Thanks Erich. All the colour shots were Micro 4/3 whilst the mono ones are film (35mm Delta 100 and HP5+).
Amazing shots. Great b-roll and choice of music, must have taken quite a while to put together. Well done.
Thanks Michael, it did take a fair bit of effort to make.
