The projects look great with the milk paint.
Thanks!!
You can learn alot from ginger chic rehab...she uses alot of milk paint and does the chippy look...she's good
Thank you for sharing! I do love her channel ❤️
Wax applied before the milk paint in areas will cause more resist/chipping. I do like that you used it directly on the shellacked wood, that’s my favorite finish
Hi you might want to try wet distressing for the chippy look. You need to make sure your rag is really wet. Also Jami Ray vintage has a few videos on milk paint
Thank you for those tips! I did not think about wet distressing. I'll have to try it 🤍
Hi Emily, I love watching your channel and always love your projects! I also enjoy seeing how you update your booth because I have a booth too, and you give me some good inspiration.
About the milk paint, the shellac is probably what is preventing it from chipping. Milk paint works best on porous surfaces and the shellac makes the wood nonporous, so like you mentioned in the video, next time try it without the shellac and see what happens. Either way the milk paint gives a beautiful finish!
Thank you Cathey! I appreciate your info on the shellac and milk paint. I'll definitely try it on raw/unfinished wood next time ☺️
Hello Emily. Your DIYS look great. Milk Paint is a little unpredictable. You really never know for sure how it will turn out. Glad you got to try it. I'm sure you'll be showing us more in the future😊 Thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
Thank you Terri! I'm curious what they next peojects will look like with the milk paint since it's unpredictable 😬🤣
I love all of these! 😍 One way I found I can get some chipping with Milk Paint, is holding the heat gun on a specific spot a little longer to cause some bubbling (careful not to burn your paint), then you just sand the bubbles off and it’s perfect chipping. ❤
Thanks for that tip!! 😊🤍
I liked the paint color you chose in combo with that black wax. The basket was my fave. -Sarah
Thank you! ❤️
Hello Emily, its amazing what a change of paint can do. I liked each piece but my favorite was the basket the greenery looked fabulous in it.
Thank you! I agree, paint can make such a difference!!
I've never tried milk paint. I think the projects turned out good. Thank you for sharing new products. 🤗
Thanks Rosemary! I have to keep practicing 😀
I love the chipiness!❤..I spray mine with a clear coat matte spray from rustoliem after the milk paint is dry❤..I have only used the sweet pickens
I will try that brand soon!!
Hello neighbor...a hop, skip&jump north @Ind Hbr BCH🐬. Enjoying ur channel & ur green/blues spring booth, from previous video, looks enticing 👍🌺👍. Congrats on new pup🐾🐾...my dogs enjoy scratching at the screen🤍at them.
Hi neighbor!! So close, I love that area ❤️. Oh your dogs do? That's funny - mine will bark and run up to the tv when I watch videos too 😆
I’ve used that milk paint! I like it!!!😊
Hi Emily! Great flips! I've never seen clumping with the sweet pickins paint so I wonder if it's a quality issue. I much prefer the crackle you achieved to chipping, but if you want chipping you can put vaseline on the surface before painting. I would add that tag back to the coffee grinder -- perhaps on the inside.
Hi Gina! Thanks for the Vaseline tip! I actually am really with the crackle look the longer I've sat with those pieces!!
Awesome
Loved it
Thank you ☺️
❤❤❤
I'm really enjoying your videos! ❤
Thank you 🤍

Loved the candlesticks!! I have worked with milk paint and I too stuggled finding the chippy places, but I have watched Jami Ray Vintage stipple on a chunky layer of paint using salt wash, letting that dry, then applying the milk paint over that. After drying they sand or use a scraper to unearth the chippy. I have everything I need to do it, except the perfect piece to try it on.
Baking soda works as well and much cheaper❤
Thank you for those tips Robin! I will have to try that!
Thanks! I like using both products ☺️
@@WoodWineandCrafts very welcome I hear u there
I have not tried milk paint yet because it seems so unpredictable and that bothers me 😂 But I think after this video of your first time has inspired me to try it. I ❤ how everything turned out
You should definitely give it a shot! Have fun crafting and see what happens 🤍☺️
Nice! I like that you left the handle original on your basket
Thank you!!

Hi! I just subscribed! Where is your booth? Love seeing what you are doing! I just ordered some milk paint too but haven’t actually used it yet. I have a small booth in North central Illinois so I just love seeing what others (particularly those younger than me🤣) are doing. Your projects turned out wonderful!
Hi! I'm in the central Florida area. I love seeing how people style their booths too. Always can get inspiration 🤍
