- This was to be the last display by RED 4 Jon Egging. His plane crashed south east of Bournemouth Airport at 1:48pm just after display to the crowds on Bournemouth Seafront. He steered his plane away from houses and saving many peoples lives whilst sacrificing his own. R.I.P. Jon Egging (RED 4) Died aged 33 Saturday 20th August 2011.
9 years and not forgotten Jon.
Watched from the roof of Talbot Heath School, a Lincoln boy I got to watch them practice every year.
Absolutely devastated by jons crash, I queued at the flower memorial and to write in the book of condolence
It’s so upsetting that he’s there doing a display, not knowing he is going to die in less than half an hour :( RIP. X

He was the best pilot at the time at least we can still look up to see him in heaven
I watched all the shows from when I was born and I was one when this show was on so I can't remember any of it!My dream is to be an RAF pilot but I doubt it will happen as it takes years of studying and even more to fly in a red arrow
I also wanted to be an RAF pilot, but it never happened. I did however get my PPL and later MPL. Your bargain shouldn’t be RAF or nothing. Even as a private pilot, there’s such a feeling of achievement and thrills to be had! That first solo and cross country! My best flights have been etched in my mind indelibly and so I’d just like to encourage you to go for it!
It will happen if you bother to put in the time to study etc.

Because he is crazy. It's a prerequisite for this type of flying.
They are commands from Red 1 to the other pilots. His verbal commands are what they use as timing for their manoeuvres.
Cadence and Tone of the voice dictate the ''pace'' of the manoeuvre, if you will. for example: ''aaaaaaaaaaaaand uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup'' (you can count aaaaa as 1 aaa ndas 2, uuuuuuu as 3, uuuuup as 4'' on the ''1 and 2'' it's ''prepare'' on the ''3'' its start the climb on the 4 ''mainatain level of climb'' etc.
Compared to ''Smoke. GO!'' ''1. TWO.'' it means ''smoke. NOW'' - cadence, and tone. they're all about 6 feet apart, so if you relied on the guy next to you on in front for cues, you'd be dead before you knew it. i hope that clears it up. IK it might seem confusing/weird, but that's the best way i could explain it

He died of GLOC had nothing to do with his plane, it was Jon's fault
