There are some authors that are just god blessed with adaptions, a few rn are Aka Akasaka, Hiro Mishima, and Rumiko Takahashi ( with re adaptations). And probably some im definelty missing.
And for more information, anyway, this announcement was way before kadokawa aquired them or bought them. And NO, this is not kodakawas IP. it's shuiehsa. Btw Dogo and kadokawa have been working together for a decade so....... Another thing to add, they are not gonna only adapt their works but others publishers instead, it's basically what toho and aniplex are doing and probably other companys

I think I'm more surprised with how Doga Kobo seems to be gaining traction as an anime studio. They're snatching up all the big titles recently. To come from all of the slice of life anime they're known for to their big break with Oshi No Ko is quite fascinating. 😁

If 50 years of american media hasn't proved it, Here's the news. Trash always sells. Quality can sneak in maybe 1/10 of the time. No matter the geomarket or the medium. If you want to increase your chances of monetary success, crank out trash. If you want to produce quality work, you have to face the fact you'll be competing with many other talented artists for that exponentially smaller piece of the pie.
I’m not surprised. Mahouka is SUPER popular. Well at least enough to have like 20-30 light novels of its series and 10+ of its direct college sequel.

The only reason Masou Gakuen HxH never got a second season is because the material is basically hentai after that. Same with shinmai no maou.

My personal opinions about his works aside at the very least I'm not upset that this guy has seen success. Least when it comes to Rent a Girlfriend he knows how to draw attractive female characters with some fashionable outfits. They're marketable designs not to mention popular. He knows his audience well.

First off, Alya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian is not an Wisest anime, I haven’t read the LN but I know people who did and there is nothing like that, yeah there are jokes about Wisest as we can clearly see in episode two, but there’s nothing more, they are just brothers who just have a clearly strong bond as a family. Second of all, congrats for the autor for his success, I don’t like his work in the slightest but still congrats.

Same thing as everything else popular that follows a formula and people feel like its overplayed. The complaints are more vocal, but there's the fanbase that is obviously outnumbering the haters by a vast amount. Fairy Tail is power of friendship the anime with some interesting stuff buried in there and fan service. Its basic but really enjoyable. Watched it all the way through twice. It's not trying to be philosophical like Naruto or deep. It's a good comfort food show. It's not fine dining. And yes the author obviously lifted character designs and archetypes from other series like One Piece. But it is really more aggregious than anyone copying a trend or the majority of the isekai genre. Just like Nickelback is known and hated for having songs that sound similar as their most popular singles but when you look through their catalog they have different stuff. It's there. But worse than that, the hate is overplayed. The songs people complained about sure do have 50 times as many likes as dislikes and hundreds of millions of plays on every platform. Sure I like 00s metalcore as my idea of fine dining in music but I don't hate things just because they are samey and popular. Obviously it works especially in Fairy Tail's case because its repeating theme is extremely sentimental. The anime's music and visual themes are extremely on point. If you think about Dragon Ball was just adventure arc to find Dragon Balls, followed by a Tournament arc, rinse repeat until midway through Z when Trunks breaks the pattern. Even still Cell ends on a Tournament of sorts and Buu did a Tournie to start the arc. It just became more about world ending threats because of power creep.

Yeah, I'm a huge Fairy Tail fan, but I don't really hang out in forums/fandoms. It's hard enough for me to squeeze out time to watch anime, in my adult life. lol So I just never really knew the hate for it.
It's funny you mentioned one piece tho. I'm not a One Piece fan, but I do know the art is similar. I'll mention I like Fairy Tail to people, and maybe show a picture or something, and they say, "Oh, it looks like One Piece!", and I'm always like: 😠 hahaha
Anyways, I'm actually in a rewatch right now...but I'm getting impatient, and might just start the new series that just started airing this season. :D
It has a massive amount of hate, I see so many people complain about its themes of friendship, usually from people that don’t have any, so that’s why they’re salty. I’m a huge fan of Mashima, although I much prefer Edens Zero to Fairy Tail.

I stopped reading the manga more than a year ago, but apparently, not much has changed other than the situation being different. Kazuya still can't talk straight with Chizuru. You soon realize where the author has his priorities.

According to what I just recently read and US State Department site step siblings can't marry in Japan if they on the same family register like in this case in effect still incest like in several parts of the world. Very clear if children are adopted they can't marry so can't see a difference.

This Manga got an Anime right off the bat! Honestly, I couldn't get into it. But I also understand why it got the Anime. The art is insanely detailed and the Author understood the cliches very well. The Author understood how to market himself. But a lot of the storytelling is BS lol

Even with the problem of rent a girlfriend’s writing/pacing, I still enjoyed the anime. It was entertaining me, I guess at the end of the day that’s what matters.
Early Rent a Girlfriend, which is what the anime has been covering so far, isn't too terrible. It's when you get further into the manga that the pacing comes to a grinding halt and hasn't gone anywhere after dozens of chapters.

At least what the anime has covered so far, it's by far one of the best rom com anime to exist in terms of enjoyment/entertainment. It has a VERY high budget for what genre it belongs to, has very beautiful and charming waifus, Mizuhara herself genuinely being one of the best written female characters in anime period, has a dumbass MC that causes hilarious scenes to unfold, addicting music, I could go on. People are just mostly mad because their favorite anime that only has 1 or maybe 2 seasons, doesn't have a further continuation, while Rent a GF is getting them back to back to back in such a short time span too, with no decreased production value. Sure Kazuya is a dipshit and is insecure AF, but man....most of the people that rage/bash Rent a GF are even MORE insecure and sensitive than him lol xd

Do people not even know the Definitions of Words anymore? Anyone who calls this a "incest" anime/manga clearly doesnt know what that words means since they are not blood related therefore its not incest. If they were blood related then yeah, it would be and people could find it nasty, but I bet people will still complain about characters being together even though there is zero blood relation.
Some countries/jurisdictions absolutely do consider step siblings incest. Others have no such prohibitions..
It may not be incest but lets be honest here, the difference between siblins and step-siblings is next to nothing.
If you have grown up with your step-siblings since you were a baby the emotional bond and whatnot that you develop are the same as you would for a blood related one.
So in my eyes, the story is the same as if they were blood related siblings who fell in love with their brother

That was a huge issue with British Royalty Hundreds of Years ago where all the inbreeding caused many children of the Royal Family to have Birth Defects.
