This reminds me of The Simpsons ditching Apu (a super likable, decent and good character/person) because of that PC/woke nonsense and then so many Indian folks were like "Wtf, why do you remove one of the few Indian representations in US TV?!" Everyone is no so deadly afraid of offending everyone and being deemed racist for absolutely everything it's taking the fun out of everything, including for those who people try not to offend.

I am Asian too and like how she avoided the theme. I don’t like how it would reinforce Asian stereotypes even though I might not feel uncomfortable watching it it does not really do anything good. I also agree that she should listen to her gut feeling because if you’re not informed it could go very wrong.

The urge to scour through my childhood home to find my copy of this game is unreal. I vividly remember the first few themes from this game I don't remember any of the themes from this video. Did I ever finish this game? I played so often how could I not have? Living vicariously through Mia if I didn't.

That is actually smart, to use the 2 pose stage for every show!! I always used one of the stages that came with each theme and I would literally write down on a sheet of paper every pose I would use for each model 🤣 like, “blow kiss pose, little twirl pose (hands down), nono☝🏻’ pose, big twirl (arms up and down), look back pose” and I would be so proud of myself 😂 I guess that’s when my overthinking and overanalysing started 🤣🤣

Problematic only for sociopaths. There are Asian folks here in the comments saying they would have loved to see that theme. This is so damn stupid. Having said that, it was a good thing to avoid the theme for Mia personally because some nutcases would have probably called her a racist for it or some other insane BS.

@@phangirlable I think it's just hard without doing research to rely on anything but stereotypes and that can be super damaging. Mia doesn't do these videos to be culturally accurate but have fun. It would add a whole level to have to do something cultural.

Hi! I absolutely love the content on this channel so I wanted to chime in about your comment about investing in lighting. I think investing in sound absorbing materials should be prioritized over lighting because there is a bit of an echo. When you are playing the game your face is a small part of the screen, whereas your audio is always present. Just a suggestion :)
Thank you for thinking about and deciding not to make or show the "Asian Exotic" theme, thats definitely not okay now and just unnecessary and I appreciate how you just mention it didn't feel right and then simply didn't do it for the channel. @@phangirlable "asian" is not just one culture though. it's many different countries and the cultures are not very similar. if the context was outfits inspired by specific countries traditional attire I agree it would be very cool to see but outfits looking broadly asian or just "asian exotic" is not ok.

Also I remember when I was a kid there was a barbie computer game where you designed clothes (or slightly altered some preset shapes, I forget how customizable it was) and then printed them out onto special printable fabrics that were sold in stores. It was cool af but we didn't have the money to buy the printables.
