Hit a bit of a lull in the middle but the front half is so damn good and Misterwives with a bit of edge works so damn well. And not to discount the backhalf I think Ultraviolet is an incredibly undervalued song.
I hadn’t heard of this crew since the mid 2010s, got to see them live at a festival and they were fantastic. I really need to check out what I’ve missed, Our Own House was a really solid record!
Yeah idk what he means by tepid. Superbloom is some of their best work and overall a huge album full of great songs. They did get screwed though. The timing was bad with Covid, so they didn’t get to tour right away. And ultimately their label dropped them for no good reason. But the album was fantastic.
Come back here after like 3 years, and I’m happy to see this dude is still talking about the music he wants to, rather than whatever’s trending. Most in depth, and knowledgeable music critic perhaps? He’s defoe in the running.
Wow, this review couldn’t be further from the truth. Every track is a masterpiece and the entire album tells a story of nubile excitement, routine, deception and hurt then breaking free. This is coming from a highly sensitive and diagnosed BPD. You say the anger is directed at their record label?…brother, this is a love story gone to shit and the subsequent recovery. But I guess it helps if you can experience human emotions. 0/10 review, 12/10 album.
I'm distracted by how Mark's fashion sense appears to be going for a James Sunderland type of look
Now I can't unsee it 😭

Yeah, this album absolutely seems up my alley.

Did you ever check out what you missed?
Always nice to see Misterwives take a win. Though I did also like their last album.
