It's so hard to sell my crocheting items. My reservation (the community) is small and we just about know everyone and when I try to sell. .they want discounts!! Watching your videos on how to sell helps me to know that I have got to get strong and know my that my crochet item is worth more and "discounts" cannot be given. And if my items don't sell in my community. .then it's time to venture out. .😊👍 As always thank you for your videos. ❤️
The way I always do it is retail price of materials + hourly rate + platform fees + taxes. I have a flat rate for smaller things such as plushies, smaller items etc. But I make a lot of shawls so I calculate my hours and add that in.
This was very helpful, thank you! I have been crocheting for years (mostly for myself and to gift to friends and family) and recently I have gotten so much encouragement from others for me to try and sell the items I make, but I had no idea where to start. This video is making me hopeful that I can actually do it!
Hi! You can actually change your hourly rate on projects you’ve already timed! If you select the project in overview, then you can press on hourly rate and change it!
I think one should decide on a target price point like $25, calculate how much time and materials one can give to make it worth it to you, and then try to create the best product you can with that budget. Do this for different price points, and you'll have something for every budget.
Thank you Katie, I have just started watching videos on RUclips about crocheting so I’m trying to watch all your videos. You have been very helpful for me.
Thank you for this video. I’m just starting and finding it so hard to price. Still slower right now so things would be too high but hopefully I’ll get faster
Omg thank you so much for this video I’ve been wondering how to track and time how long each item takes to make!! I’ll definitely be downloading the app and using today 😊
@@katiebeingcreative I used it to time two projects tonight and it worked great 😊 thanks so much for the recommendation. Still getting use to all the features in the app but so far I’m very pleased!!
@@katiebeingcreative only problem I have is it seems like you can’t pause a project for a couple days. Like say you start at night and need to stop and pick it up the next day or 2 days later. So I’m trying to figure that part out. But living the app for sure 🎉💗
I have found that there are some cases where you might underprice an item and they will not sell. It is that supply and demand economics thing! Thanks for your sharing your information!
That could work but it’s important to still get your times worth for your work! You could always start out with smaller items so your items wouldn’t be super expensive
I have a question. Different size yarns (DK versus bulky) will obviously create different size items. Even though they take the same amount of time to crochet, the costs are higher for the larger items. Using your pricing methodology, how do you calculate a different price? Thanks for sharing all of this useful information!
You’re welcome! If you want to just add a few more dollars to your hourly wage for items that are bigger/ use more expensive yarn you could definitely do that, I’ve always just charged based off of this method since I always shop sales for my yarn :)

Or you could start with a higher price, so if you give a discount you are getting the amount you want.

That works too! Like I said everyone does it differently so you just have to do what works best for you! :)

That is great to know! Thank you!!
Thank you for the information. I worry that I crochet too slow and that my items would be too expensive.
I use Baileys spreadsheet. I love it. It makes pricing so much easier. ♥️♥️ thank you for your time and advice!
Of course! Great to know you enjoy it, I’ve heard it’s great! ❤️
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, Katie
Oh wow I clicked on this thinking it was one of your old videos- goodness I am early. I love your videos! Have a great day :D

Very informative xx
I’m so glad! 🥰
One day I'll be able to price things this way, right now I'm still slow and id be charging $96 for a plush that you sell for like $25😅😅😅
We all start somewhere lol!
Same here. I'm designing a fox toy and it's currently at $130 😆
Thank you for the info. For me is to hard to sell even with the price. I don’t charge for extras on my knitting.
Im so sad i cant get this app or the other one i figured out how to calculate it myself but its still sad this video helped so much ❤
Aw! Well glad you were able to calculate it yourself!
Loved the vid, it helped allot thx 🙏
I’m so glad to hear that!! 🥰
i think the extra time that you can set is for like when your shopping or doing anything extra that isnt exactly time wile your crocheting
I have found that there are some cases where you might underprice an item and they will not sell. It is that supply and demand economics thing! Thanks for your sharing your information!
Of course and you’re so right!
I crochet so slow compared to everyone I know. I might have to do a flat rate or something.
That could work but it’s important to still get your times worth for your work! You could always start out with smaller items so your items wouldn’t be super expensive
Great info Katie . Love watching your videos. Apple doesn’t have that app I will check it out though. Thank you 😊
So glad you enjoy my videos ☺️
Hii loved the he vid it helped me with my shop!!
I’m so glad!! :)
@@katiebeingcreative you deserve more
You will also need an extra of profit margin. It is normally 2*costs.
So after watching your video approaches the whale pattern and downloaded the app and use your wheel to be my 1st timed project
Awesome! I hope you enjoy the pattern and the app!

Of course! So glad you enjoyed!! It came from Hobby Lobby a long time ago :)
Did anyone find a similar app for Android?
Hi dear.. I used to watch your videos.. That's are really helpful.. But I want to know how can I get this yarn in Dubai.. Please answer
I’m not sure unfortunately. I get it at Joann, Michael’s, and Amazon in Florida but I know every place is different
I can't seem to find anything for android any ideas?
Oh no! Maybe a google search for “apps similar to time track pro” could help you find another one that would work the same way
@@katiebeingcreative thanks I'll keep trying to find something
