- I made this video to share memories of happy times with everyone. Merry Christmas!
Update, 2015:
Thank you all for your kind comments! I made this video for my Mom 5 years ago, and decided to post it so that she could share it with friends, and in hopes that it might bring a moment of good memories and joy to a few more people. I never dreamed it would be viewed by so many others, but I'm so happy to see that it has been enjoyed! God Bless everyone, and Merry Christmas!
I was born in 1957. The toys and food were so different and good back then. Those were the good old days that I miss.
Me too. Loved my Tutti doll
Yes it were like being on another planet.
Such beautiful times.
I too was born in 1957 and loved being a kid during those wonderful times.
My happiness was easy bake oven and my chatty kathy.
@@deborahhall3488 my sister put her easy bake to good use . I still have my 1st daisy bb gun
OMG,, I've got tears in my eyes!! I truly miss these days and my mother !!
+sam stinson Thank you for your comment! I hope this Christmas brings many fond memories of you and your family. God Bless!
+sam stinson. I know what you mean Pizana. This sure bring,s back some very beautiful memories that I will always cherish.
what ever happened to the good times
Me too ! If we could only go back in time! Our Mothers are so special. I know I sure miss mine!
WE had it great back then. My eyes also
teared up watching this.
Such a wonderful time to live in America; wish it could still be like that.
Emily S It was a great time in England
I hear you
It was great in Venezuela too, my siblings and I had all those toys
My partner is terminal and his thing to reflect upon is " We've lived the Greatest time!! Just think of all the MAGNIFICENT things that we've seen and experience! We're getting out just in time!
Back in my day we rode a horse head mounted on a broomstick and we liked it!
Yes, I had that too and had fun with it.
I can still smell the spent caps in those guns.
Oh yes, Robert! Embedded in my sense-memory file forever. My whole little world smelled so different than it does today. Coal or wood smoke from chimneys in winter, for instance. Floral and green smells in spring and summer. I've no doubt your sense of smell is as keen as mine was/is.
Yes, me too.
Same here. I played with all kinds of toys passed down from older brothers and sister.
@Sponge Bob It's called happy memories.
Or you could hit caps with a rock..🕊🇺🇲💕
I remember getting some of these toys.
We got them in a proper Xmas stocking it use to have a Santa mask a small plastic water pistol Anda marble game a small plastic checkers set and probably a lot of other bits and pieces
What a simple life it was 😃😉🤗👍
I was born in 1959. So many of my toys and crafts are depicted! Brings back good memories of the people who gave me the toys and the kids I played with. Thank you for putting together this video montage.
I was born Christmas eve 1959 lovely times so missed.
I was born in 1954 this brings back so many happy memories and times such a shame the children of today can't say the same thank you so much for sharing theses video it was amazing wondering down memory lane 😀
Great time 👍
Simple ,fun times.
Kindness, manners, respect ..and I remember some of theses similar toys.
I’m from UK,
I was born in 1958, my brother and I had many of those toys. How many sad, 'What were they thinking?' with some toys.
Many of these toys my father had and I played with every time I visited my grandparents. Good simpler times.
Thanks for the memories. It was a simpler time. We knew how to have fun with very little beyond our imagination.
It was sooo nice to not need a p,h,d to operate these toys,as you do today,
@Sponge Bob the vaccine was available in the late fifties. I received it in 1962.
But we USED our imagination....76 and counting.we new simple pleasures of "fun"...🕊🇺🇲💕
What a wonderful trip back to the 1950's and 60's......Thank You So Much....
Born in 1946. Those days were the best all about family and respect thanks for sharing
I LOVE Tinsel !!!! it is the most beautiful of all...
Fantastic! Thanks for bringing back great memories from a more innocent era.
What a beautiful tribute to times gone by. Brings back so many memories of the good old days. How innocent we all were. And it was such a much happier time. Wish we could have stayed in that time period longer. it was so much better for everyone. Thanks so much for the happy memories.
@Sponge Bob I don't think so. Times are very different now.
@Sponge Bob They might be born the same, but what they are exposed to is quite different which then makes them different from kids in the 1950's.
@Sponge Bob No, you are ignorant of the influences on children during different time periods. Now is very different from pre-1960's.
When were you born?
@Sponge Bob I sure don't trust you. You haven't said when you were born??
We were comparing now with 1950's, not all of human history. Children are as different depending on their circumstances as are adults, and there is a big difference from age 2 to age 8 to age 15. You do appear to be quite ignorant, and you know nothing about my knowledge or anything else.
The world is much worse now than it was pre-1960's.
@Sponge Bob You are irrelevant. You won't even state when you were born. Nobody here said anything about stress-free. If you don't know how much worse the world is now than pre-1960's, then you are very ignorant of the times.
So I guess adults remain the same and 15 year olds are no different than 2 year olds according to your intellect. Then you contradict yourself about children remaining the same by stating only if/because parents shield them.
Go away troll. This is about happy nostalgia, not your nonsense. FYI--it IS about the 1950's. YOU are probably a kid who thinks he knows it all, but really knows nothing and just likes to harass and irritate adults.
Toys were so much simpler back then. This video brings back great memories.
The BETTY CROCKER BAKE set I had, paper dolls, Lincoln logs, Barbies, a lot of these toys I grew up with !
Ahhh..the memories! I'm 61 years old and remember having most of these. And yes, getting them for Christmas. Thanks for the trip back in time!
The pictures of the toys brings back so many memories. Thanks for posting this.
I remember the late 50s. It was a time when kids weren't killing each other. Great times.
I was born in the late 50’s, my favourite memory was getting a stocking filled with little things, chocolates, orange, coins and nuts but best of all we always got a book with our stocking. These were always placed at the bottom of our bed. Yes we had other gifts under the Christmas tree but it was always the stocking and book that thrilled me the most.
I still have my skate tree. I'm 65! I would put bacon fat on my sled runners. Great memories.
I remember them Tinkertoys from the 1960s. I never had them myself but I was 10 years old and we were on vacation in Texas and playing with their kids toys. They were made out of wood back then.
geez.born in 56.out of all my stuff I only have my viewfinder and my meet the Beatles LP shown here. sure enjoying the memories. so very many.
+Edward Borries I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing all the toys. I only have one doll left, and I have my Beatles album too!
What a treat! Thank you for the leisurely stroll around the cluttered aisles of my memory.
Brings tears to my eyes.. Them days are long gone
Gone but not forgotten. At least to me anyway.;
@belly tripper No you can't.
Same here. Fun to see, but sad too.
How wonderful America used to be...
Nostalgia all over, takes us back to family growing in much simpler times, thank you for putting it all together and producing this video
@belly tripper So true.
I remember a lot of these toys.My sisters and I used to wear out the Sears Christmas Catalog! We were lucky to find some of this stuff under our Tree! Makes me feel old watching this, most of the good stuff can't be sold now for fear of a lawsuit! We JUST HAD FUN WITH IT!
born 1961 have some toys pictured,,toys were simple and we were happy to get 1 or 2 gifts,,,glad I exp. old fashion christmas
Lots of memories for me growing up in the 1950s. I had American Bricks, Tinker Toys, Candy cigarettes, Krazy Ikes, Tidley Winks. All fun toys to be played with over and over. Wish I still had them!!!
I was born in 1958 and recognize probably 90 percent of these toys which I was given. (Thank you my generous, little Mom) It was all so different and wonderful in so many, many ways back then and I miss it so much. Maybe I can relive that life again someday in Heaven.
This is wonderful!! My parents owned a toy store in Chicago 1945-1970 and I know all these toys.
Oooh, lucky you! I bet Christmas was an exciting time!
Do you know the name of the baby doll? I'm sure I had that one Christmas 😊
You were lucky to have Rich parents.
@@tommy5367 Who was rich in 1945??? Right after the Depression....
My gosh, I had so many of these exact toys! Fun memories...
Fantastic. Took me back 60 years :)
Boy these bring back memories l or my siblings had so many of these wish we still had then
Born in 1951...the best of times and a wonderful childhood ! Oh how I miss those years !
Loved paper dolls and pop beads. I remember so many of these toys.
As I recall my childhood I would always say that we didn’t have much in the way of toys. However, many of these we indeed did have! I laughed out loud when I saw those red wax lips!
What a wonderful time to be a child.
I got those puzzles every year, I loved them!
Ohhhhhh, My favorite, the beauty shop toy. I had something similar, fashioned after Mary Poppins. Had to be about 1969. I could still smell the hand lotion. Thank you for reminding me what else was in that package, the face puff and the comb and brush. The only thing I remembered after all these years was the hand lotion.
OH MY GOODNESS>...one of my FAV POSTS.....I grew up early 50's.....the VERY BEST TIME EVER.....THanks so much for this JOURNEY down the BEST MEMORY LANE EVER....Love this...Ken from Orlando, Fl.
The tub sub!!!!!! Adored it.
What a wonderful trip down memory lane! I had forgotten about some of these toys, and seeing them again filled me with warm feelings for the "good old days". Thank you so much.
I just stumbled across this... I was born in 69 and my younger sister in 70 she cried when she saw the metal doll house . This has brought back so many memories , thankyou.
where did all the years go brings back so so many great times of christmas wish we could travel back in time for just for one more christmas with mum and dad many thanks djovermac merry christmas to you and your family xxxxx
Thank you for some wonderful memories. I just had to share this. Merry Christmas!
Oh my goodness! I remember getting that dollhouse! Thanks for posting this, great memories!!!!
Christmas 2020 Than you enjoying this incredible stroll down memory lane
I had so many of those toys. Either given to me or left from older brothers and sister.
I'm about 2 weeks behind in viewing this video. Wonderful job getting all those toys together.
Oh man...Mattel Vac-U-Form, Cootie, Silly Putty and quite a few other things from my childhood on this video. I remember going to the SHOPPING CENTER every year to see Santa arrive.
For the 3 people that gave this video a thumbs down, it's not the fault of the people who like it that Santa jilted you on a IPad, didn't leave you drugs or crapped in your Christmas stocking.
Oh but what fun we had with these toy's 😀👍
I was born in 1959. I think I or my brother had every toy you showed. Thanks for the memories!
I was born in 1955 and I had most of the toys. I know that Vac-u-form and the Wood burning set would not have a chance today. We rode bicycles without helmets, drank hose water, catch lightning bugs, and when the street lights came on it was time to get home.
I had darn near all those toys over the years. Not privileged, just spoiled! Thanks, Merry Christmas.
Ahhh... Memories👍👍
Awesome as I was a Kid in the 60's. My favorite Christmas gift ever was a Lost in Space Robot the 66' Remco. I can't believe the prices they go for now!
Oh, I had Tip-It and Tinker toys, Silly Putty, Mousetrap, Spirograph, Tiddley Winks, the weaving loom, Duncan yo-yos, cap guns, Cootie, Etch-a-Sketch, that world bank!!!...you just brought back the best childhood memories!
Oh lord wish i could go back! I remember this stuff
BEAUTIFUL!
I admire those people who preserved their decades-old vintage ornaments. Sure, some of these can be found on eBay but to actually have the original and genuine articles is special.
Oh wow!! Our mom ended up single later on with 6 of us and managed to get the one gift we wanted which is these seen in this memorable video. Thank you my heart feels so warm and happy.
What memories. I had some of the toys depicted here. And tied in with the music, what a rush. Thank you.
Awesome, I had so many of those toys, those were much simpler times, thanks for the flashback. 😊😊
OMG, that was the best time in the 50's, I remember receiving so many of those toys thru the years. if we only knew that someday what they would be worth. I would love to go back to that AREA.
ha ha ha :) Thanks for sharing the memory of the "drippy dolls" after a bath. I have daughters who did the same, so I "am" that mom, too. I remember shaking the dolls to get the water out, and I had to do it while they weren't looking so they didn't worry about me not being gentle with them.
I'm from the UK and I remember some of the toys
Even though I was a child of the 70's and 80's, a lot of those toys transitioned into my era, and I remember them fondly, especially the cobbler's bench, Etch A Sketch, Lincoln Logs, the magic 8 ball, Mouse Trap, Silly Putty, and Tinker Toys. I'm surprised Erector sets weren't mentioned. People from that era sure loved their toy robots and model airplanes, didn't they?
6672rock. Yep including the dolls.
The few I remembered. The good old days.
Thank you, what sweet childhood memories. Great memories of Christmas past with my brother.
Oh to go back to those days ,I'd give anything to be with my wonderful mum and dad just for one day .I'd be on my best behaviour ,unlike the naughty child I was .you don't know what you've got until its gone .
Thanks. That was fun.
Thank you. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you & yours
Man, I either had most of these toys or a friend that did! Some were so simple, but so much fun.
Thank you for the wonderful video. I can't believe how many of these toys I had (some were hand-me-downs from my older brother). Most I've forgotten about until now. You had me smiling throughout the whole video.
The most memorable thing in those days was to go to the movie theatre watch 2 feature films, 5 or more cartoons, Lash Larue serial western with popcorn, a soft drink and candy all for about 75 cents and only leave your seat to use the toilet cause you could sit there for 4 hours. If we could only turn back time. Children of today have so many negative distractions. When we acquire the first working time machine, I will volunteer.
Ah, the good ol' days when toys required a kid to use his/her imagination.
AMEN to that!!!!!!!!
I miss Daddy so much.
Excellent!!!
Can still smell the cap revolvers when they fired the reel of caps off with a bang!
Me too! It was so distinct, lol!
I enjoyed seeig which toys i remembered getting at Christmas. The best game shown for me was the rod hockey game where moving the rods on the ends of the board controlled the players to score goals like real hockey. It became so popular in my neighborhood when the St. Louis Blues hockey team started up in 1967-1968 the interest expanded to more kids in my neighborhood and we would have our own 6 player league set up and kept standings, had playoffs, and a Stanley Cup winner just like the NHL. I got two different ones from 1960 through 1969. Prior to the Blues, St. Louis had a minor league hockey team the St. Louis Braves for the Chicago Black Hawks so I grew up liking hockey. From St. Louis
Indeed you did just that .. thanks for this video to remember such beautiful memories for Christmas songs.
Electric trains were very important toys in the 50's.
Thank you for the memories!
Oh my goodness... so many of my personal Christmas gifts on display here.. thank you for sharing this!! ❤🎄💚
Cute video. I was born in 1942 and usually got clothes for Christmas, so Christmas was usually a downer for me - except one Christmas my dad bought me a pair of real ice skates. Boy, was I thrilled!
This was awesome. So many memories. I can't believe how O of these toys either I or my brothers had. The doll house brought back so many memories of endless hours playing on the floor. Thank you for bringing us back to a simpler.
I have so many of these old toys in my garage still, I have my first 2 easy bake ovens, it’s crazy 😝 memories from my childhood is the best Christmas story ever!
Well let me see. The race car at 0:48, and the steering wheel radio at 1:39 and an old Navy S B D Attack, Dive bomber and a plastic 45 Cal. pistol. And last but not least, a metal 32Nd scale size P-38 Lightening U S Army Air Force model. I still have all these toy,s and more. I know they are worth a lot of cash. But they will never be for sale. And I thank my Parent,s and other Family members for giving US such beautiful Christmas,es and some very beautiful memories.
I was born in 1952 and had a lot of those toys shown. I think most American kids had the same toys.
I had a Mr. Machine when I was little, it was so cool.
Wow. This brought back alot of memories. Thank-you
Thanks so much for the beautiful memories that you shared with me. I could still see the toys. I had a lot of them. Thanks so much. I miss the good old days with my family and me being a kid.
Such great memories, those old bubble pipes. Kooties, jumping beans, all the Dolls, loved dressing and combing their hair. That old metal frog , peez candy dispensers pop Pearl's, & hoola hoops , my little record player, guitar, silly putty, snow sled , which was my very favorite, My Dad and Mom would take me out on a country road and pull me behind the car on that sled. Boy you couldn't do that now! Even country roads are so traveled. Then my Great Uncle Roy would pull me on that sled on the grass in the hot summertime. Wow I love this video of days gone by, gee so many great toys and memories. Please Christmas dont be late ! We sure thought that too, couldn't wait for Christmas. Lovely walk through time, Thanks so much. This is a happy but also sad video, it reminds me of my once great life when parents and family were still alive and well. I miss them all so much! I shed a few tears over this one!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I do understand the tears, as I shed a few while I made it, too. Love those memories of family and friends.
These were the good old days ... ✌
I'm British and our balsa wood gliders had RAF markings. But we had most of the same toys with British versions like post office sets with British red post boxes and the Queen on the fake stamps.
