There are no gangways between cars in the lower deck of TGV's, only on the upper deck.
All lower deck cabins are dead-ends, which is great to rest as there's very little foot traffic, only the people sitting in the cabin may move around, there's zero through traffic.
It the best seats for a long trip, like returning from a week skiing in the Alps, or from the riviera.
The new TGV M's will have a mezzanine over the bar, which will be on the lower deck in the bar car.
For accessibility, attendants use a device to facilitate entry to the lower deck.
New TGV M's will have a kind of rotating elevator platform for accessibility. They'll also carry up to 1480 passengers in double formations (400m), and 740 in single formations (200m), while offering more personal space.
Yeah this high-speed line can be very busy, with trains passing up to every 3 minutes in each direction during rush hour, like in Japan.

This looked like it was a fun trip, and I enjoyed how you laid out the journey. What took you to the small coastal town?

Thank you! My extended family planned a short trip in Cavalaire and I decided to go by train :)

I’m French so I can insult our transportation system. While in some ways, it surpasses the U.S., if you’re going to places where my grandparents live, to go to my one set of grandparents in one part of south of France to another part of south of France, you’re either stuck with a bus or having to go back north and then back south.
Same with planes, from Toulouse to Montpellier, you have to go back to Paris to connect

Toulouse to Montpellier by plane wouldn't make any sense, it's way too close.
There are trains for such a journey, conventional and / ir regional ones that aren't super fast like TGV's but they exist.
