🥲You are one of my biggest inspirations on RUclips and I really appreciate you taking the time to leave an encouraging comment😊 Best of luck on your journey as well🙂
Nice ,doing the brake down on the price to build what you built. Tools too ! Thanks for sharing ! Also, being creative after a breakup really gives you a place to put your heart into a positive place !
Thanks so much for this - in every way. I've been looking for concrete breakdowns of prices AND materials for this build. But despite the number of videos I've watched on this design, I think this video has been the first to properly break it down so clearly/simply. Which has made it feel so much more real and achievable for me in my mind. These are definitely the kinds of videos people like me need to get out of their head and onto the dirt :) P.S I'm applauding the fact that you showed yourself on camera despite your hesitance. Wishing you the best, you have a great vibe!
Currently living in a 10x20 "tiny home" out in the backyard... it's got 3 small windows and 1 metal exterior door. Tin sheeting with cheap roll insulation. Sloping no ridge roof. Propane wall heater and 30 amp service box. Tile flooring for easy cleaning. OSB the entire interior. My dad built it about 15+ yrs ago... Think he said he paid about $5,000 for the complete build. It's all I need, except for no bathroom and running water... I go to the house for that... 😂😂 Now $5,000 gets a "pup tent"... 😂😂 Nice little A frame, but wow have prices soared.... My shack must be a 10k+ build now!!!😂😂
Thank Biden and administration for inflation of building materials, especially lumber by 50-60% in the last 4 years. in 2019 a 4x8' sheet of 1/2" quality plywood was $25. NOW, its $50-60. and other lumber not far off that double the price mark. Making the overall avg. 50-60% increase in 4 years. Need I say more about Nov. 5th ?
Thanks so much for the breakdown on parts, it's obvious you spent a lot of time on it. It is especially helpful that you named the items used, as i didn't know what some of the roof parts were called! Keep on keeping on, and I hope things get better for you soon!
Cool build breakdown video. If you ever needed more space you could always build another one next to that one for a kitchen/dining/storage and just keep the existing one for a bedroom. great job
This is great! So glad you did this! Wasn't expecting it? Nice to see the break down on cost! You did a beautiful ❤️ Job on it! Hope to see more? Outhouse next?😄😉
I promise last comment you are incredibly talented. I’m obsessed with the deck the A-frame like the how you did the metal part off of the A-frame and then you got the wood everything about it is just so special. How the hell do you build that so cool made me realize there’s so much potential out there and I really appreciate the motivation and also just knowing and thinking that there’s a possibility I can’t thank you enough for your motivation. I’m so excited.
This is the most cutest A-frame build I have seen, your list of prices and materials has helped so much!! I plan on building one of these for my future property for a hangout spot. Thank you!! 🤗
Thank you for the video! Very helpful! I really like the side of the cabin opening up for more views and air flow! I hope to build a cabin within the next three years and this video answered a lot of questions!
yeah ..it's a great awesome A frame cabin..i love it..build more...thanks God bless and continue kicking...your channel doing fine here in the Philippines...
Thank you so much my friend! I really never expected this to reach a global audience..so neat😆 Appreciate your support and hope you have a most excellent year ✌️
I just found you and watched this video. I have seen a lot of videos on this particular cabin design including the one by Deke and Brooke at Girl in the woods. Your cabin is extra nice and I enjoyed the cost breakdown very much. I think you are a very sweet and nice guy, you will get more comfortable with the camera probably. good luck with your channel.
Really appreciate your kind words Terri! Yeah putting myself out there has always been a struggle for me. I’m trying to be a bit more open this year and I feel like I’m feeling more confident with each video. Just so unnatural and silly talking to yourself all day🤣 With all the kind folks watching and commenting that has really inspired me to keep trying to make content so again thank you so much ✌️
Thank you so much Dieshawn! You won’t regret building one it’s such a fun and rewarding undertaking! I had no building experience and I am still a beginner but it gave me a lot of confidence! If you are new just remember you can find a RUclips video for each step of the way and it makes it feel manageable and less overwhelming.🙂 good luck and send me a photo when you finish I’m sure it’s going to be awesome😎
Thanks for breaking it all down, one of My Favorite Y-Tubers built one almost exactly like this. Hi "Girl in the Woods" and Dave. Appreciate You sharing the Plans Link also, I'm considering this as a Design for a Bunk House while I build on My 20 acres in AZ. Good looking Cabin, thanks again for sharing.. 👍🤠
Appreciate you watching! Girl in the Woods was one of my main inspirations for this build actually😁 Hope you go with the design would be cool to see another out in AZ!
Great video! I was also inspired by Girl in the Woods a-frame build video. Mine will be completed next month, if weather permits. I really appreciate the breakdown. keep the vids coming. I love getting ideas from other people’s experience building and camping out in these things
This is awesome. Great work. I bought the Deek plans a couple weeks ago. I plan to build it soon. I am building an A frame outhouse first as a practice run. Lol What color red is that?
Ugh... I know we should do this for more of our projects. I did it for the small bridge we made and wasn't too stunned with the total cost (we kept adding lumber, so the total amount was deceptive) over time. Not sure that I want to look through the total expenses for the bus build, but it actually probably wasn't that bad in the end... so maybe a video like this is worth making. Oh, and with a little time, you'll come out the other side of the tunnel you feel you're in. Been there. I know it isn't easy, but I can promise you it will get so much better.
Yeah y’all should definitely make one! Or two or three🤪It was nice finding out I spent less than I thought by a few thousand. Although I’m not sure where that money went?!😂 and thank you so much! For sure getting in a better and better place. it’s nice to have such a big project that takes up most of my energy😝
Thank you for this video. I was wondering - if you were building the same cabin now - what would you change? And what about heating and toilet? Any advice? I like this cabin very much, I would like to build one and spend weekends in it ... but I live in area where I will need heating... thank you!
Great question! I think the main thing I would do differently is make it wider than 10feet so the walls would be less steep and with the extra square footage I could fit a bathroom nook. I would also recommend maybe not installing the clear wall if you are somewhere very cold and also insulating. Installing the loft is key in winter you can buy a cheap little buddy heater and the heat will rise up in the loft and keep you toasty. I am building an outhouse for my toilet but another cheap option is googling camp toilet and just setting up inside when you need it. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Currently looking into buy land in northern Arizona. I'm trying to do my homework and take as many notes as I can but I'm a complete noob. I have triplets on the way and would like to build a A frame cabin big enough to fit us all. If you have any advice on laws, permits and cost I'd greatly appreciate it. Love your videos 🧡🙏🏽
That sounds like an incredible undertaking I wish you the best of luck! Each county is a bit different regarding codes. Cochise has an owner opt out where you can forego any inspections or permitting. Pima county has a specific tiny house ordinance and allows for no permits for structured under 200sq ft if there is a main structure. I don’t know much about northern az but I’m sure they are not incredibly strict you can probably bring up the codes on the government site for whatever county it is. The reality is most people doing this type of stuff operate in very much a grey area and you have to kind of access the risk if you do decide to go a non traditional route. My best advice maybe would be to build something on wheels if possible. My friend who built a tiny house in New Hampshire got around all codes by just building on a trailer. Had a friend in New Orleans do the same thing and he gets no trouble. Wish you the best of luck hope that helps somewhat my email is desertswagman@gmail.com if you have more questions that don’t fit in a video response ✌️ 🙏
You are allowed to park up an RV for a few years while building a main structure from my understanding without a septic which is in the works. Land was 8k. You can message me on Instagram @desertsolitudedude if you want more info! Can only fit so much here lol
Haha I’m not sure exactly what you mean are you talking about the cabin specifically? It’s a build by Deek who owns relaxshacksdotcom and it’s been built by quite a few people I think the most popular build video is Brooke from Girl in the Woods. If that’s not what you mean my bad😂
I believe wood was a lot cheaper when he made his video? Also this is 2x his original plan but that is still a bit of a difference in price. I’m honestly not really sure how you could build one that cheap other than using a lot of free materials.
I Found It !!!! How would you like to come visit me summer of 25' -- about 3 hours north of Dawson City in Yukon Territory on Dempster Highway. 15 min away is some incredible climbing spots that only Moab could compete with. As mentioned I lived in Durango and in La Plata Canyon from 1991-1999 and miss the area. But now i'm going to the Last Frontier and most Beautiful terrain on Earth. nestled between 2 mountain ranges on the Blackstone River. Food for thought .... lol.
Good stuff- being a creator is definitely rewarding and challenging! Best of luck on your journey~

$60 for a single sheet of plywood is absolute insane

Cost of the land ?
Why am I not able to "like" this video?
It not a bad video, it just that A frames are such an inefficient use of space and materials.
How much did you pay for your land? Can you move right away even without a septic tank in your county?
