Thank you for an excellent and informative video. I've been running Google Ads since it came out as AdWords a very long time ago. I joke with clients that P-Max is automating me out of a job. I can't help but wonder with some of what P-Max reports, "Why are you telling me this?" when I can't do anything with the information. Net-net, though as much as I understand it, watching your video reinforced what I thought I knew or helped clarify. Best part was I learned something. I wasn't aware of the placement info in the predefined reports. Thanks!
Hello Benjamin I created a performance max campaign after watching your demonstration video. I'm excited about the result I have gotten so far in terms of the conversion and cost per conversion.
The way you explain is amazing. I am using performance max campign since they launched but still watch your videos to learn how to explain things to others :). Thank you and plz update frequently. 🙏
I'm getting very good results with Performance Max for one client but not such great results for another. But both campaigns are in early days (less than a month). So I'm going to give it some time. This video was very helpful in understanding the results I'm getting and how I can make adjustments.
Hi Benjamin, thank you very much for the tutorial. A question: if we run Search and PMax campaign in parallel, can PMax cannibalize Search campaign's traffic? In theory (as Google says) it shouldn't. But what are your personal observations?
Hi Benjamin, Thanks for this tutorial. However there's a way to check which google network are best best performing? Also I just ended my campaign and my assets don't have data for my assets performance.
@loves Data, thx for the insghts. However, we've got a huge discrepancy between clicks and actual visits on our website (I know 10-20% do not accept cookies) but I talk about 80% less. Do you know where I could see what the clicks actually were?
Amazing content please keep these coming this was very helpful to me!! Thanks for that stealth ninja "campaign name contains" reporting trick too btw im totally using that!
First look at the product groupings... this will give you an idea on the shopping visibility, then look at your placements (it's a custom report instead of native in platform), then everything else should be search. It's ugly but it's the only way to do this currently.
Hi @Loves Data, in your opinion, it's a good idea put the best performing audience segment you can find in the insight as a targeting audience of the Pmax?
Thank you! This video was very useful. I made a Performace Max campaign and also seeing good results. I cannot see the section “Asset Performance” that you showed though under Overview - any idea why I can’t see that?
Hi Benjamin, Thank you very much for the video and the tip of increasing the budget. However, compared with my search campaign of the same budget, the performance max campaign's performance is not at par. In fact, it is much under 50% of the conversions getting from the search campaign. What is your advice on keeping the campaign types separate and fine-tuning them individually Vs performance max campaign?
I would say give it time for learning.. It's not going to be that efficent in the beginning. There's alot of data points that need to be registered from conversions.. With time it will improve. However, it's hit or miss.
Thanks for creating this helpful video! I would like to learn which video assets in my PMax campaign perform well, and which should I replace. But in my performance insights, all video assets are showing 'Pending'. It means, there is not enough data yet, to determine whether the videos are performing well or not. Does that mean that they are not being shown to the audience - and therefore not collecting data? The campaign has been running for around 4 weeks.
This means that they are not being shown and not collecting data... Sorry... Once they are however, it's always best to run this as an unlisted video... you should be able to identify view rates based on your RUclips Studio analytics. It can get cumbersome, but in this situation it's VERY useful. Just make sure to use a consistent naming conversion for your videos and keep an eye on how many campaigns are using them. We like to use this structure: (Video Name)+(Campaign Name)+(Target Audience). This lets us quickly view with filters in the studio, which ad variations are performing the best, and once you have a couple of hundred in there... it MATTERS!
Hi Benjamin I love your video on PMC (performance max campaign) and followed through on how to setup. However, i have an unusual challenge in that my PMC is not running over 2 weeks of been published, despite being eligible and approved. My daily budget to test is just $10 per day and target All locations. Could it be my that budget is too low or something I'm missing?
Hi Benjamin, Than you for the wonderful video. I wanted to understand if there's a way to include URL parameters within a performance max campaign. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks :)
Hi Benjamin, what if we have 2 different products and both have different creative assets and keywords. Should we create 2 performance max campaigns in that case?
@@manzarmashhood8098Yes, that is what I realized recently. But I have already started different performance max campaigns and they are improving. So will keep it that way. Thanks
Thank you Benjamin. I set up Performance Max campaign using your original RUclips tutorial, with $10 daily budget. The conversion rate is 2.87 and cost per conversion well within the margin. About to increase the budget and I was wondering is there a simple way to track changes in the campaign? And can I see the start date i.e. the date I created the campaign. Thank you :)
Your videos are super professional and very CLEAR. Thanks for the value

Thank you Raju! That's great to hear, and will do!
This guys videos are always dope! Thanks so much for putting this out there!! Great breakdown

Amazing video as usual! I always come to you when looking for tips & tricks with Google products. :)
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
You are always on top🙌🙌🙌🎊🎊🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the video
Great Video! Thank you!
Excellent video as always! Thank you.
That's a great video ! Thanks for detailed information on performance max !

Loved every minute of the video .... by the way 😊
Thank you so much Victoria!
Anyone say campaign?
benjamin you rock! can you make a video for pmax for eshop?including the product listing features and some tips?
Very good explanation. Nice pace and made it very understandable.
Thank you!
Hi Benjamin, Thanks for this tutorial. However there's a way to check which google network are best best performing? Also I just ended my campaign and my assets don't have data for my assets performance.
Look at the product groups instead of the asset groups... unfortunately this is only valid for shopping instead of search.
why does my dashboard not look anything like yours? I only have asset group status and asset performance and optimisation score? Any advice?

Hi. Does PERFORMANCE MAX work on its own or do i need to create a second search network campaign ? Thank you
Hey Benjamin, Is there any way that we could find out where the conversions is coming from, because it plainly shows cross-Network.
First look at the product groupings... this will give you an idea on the shopping visibility, then look at your placements (it's a custom report instead of native in platform), then everything else should be search. It's ugly but it's the only way to do this currently.
Very good video, learned alot of other things too.

Hi Benjamin, Thank you for the video and I have a question. On my p-max campaign, it has 3 kinds of goals. Can I see conversions by each goal?
If i have multiple product categories should I create pmax campaign for each category ?
When should you use more than one asset group in max performance campaigns? If the assets/message are to different?
Is it good to run an aditional search campaign with a performance max campaign? Aren't they compitin with each other?
Thanks for creating this helpful video!

Same issue here... Did you manage to resolve it?
Do you know if they actually added negative keywords support? Because that could save quite a lot of time and money.
They did but it's at the account level... BE CAREFUL with this!

Hi Benjamin, what if we have 2 different products and both have different creative assets and keywords. Should we create 2 performance max campaigns in that case?
create two different asset groups (treat asset groups as ad groups, if you sell shoes and jackets, there should be a separate asset group for each)
@@manzarmashhood8098Yes, that is what I realized recently. But I have already started different performance max campaigns and they are improving. So will keep it that way. Thanks
is there a way to see impressions data for search ads with a performance max campaign? I’m seeing site and app data in the predefined report.
You need to look at site/app and shopping and then subtract them from the total... which will give you search

Views and Clicks are great, but how many subs did you get over the campaign ?
I don't have the Performance Max Placement Report in my account. So frustrating! 😡
That's strange. Maybe Google Ads Support can help?
I always hear: CAM PAIN
Performance max campaign is only better performing for lead generation, not e-commerce purchase
True, for me smart shopping and search campaign works best for e-commerce. (High value goods)
@@rajupaliwal1 Great tip!
Thank you for sharing!
but smart shopping campaigns are migrating to performance max. what are your thoughts about that?
Thank You!
