It is often said that English is Angelina's second language. I think (as you pointed out) that in the Scandinavian countries, English is learned right along with the native language, but I would argue that Angelina's first language is music. That is why she is so fluent at communicating the feelings of a song.

You are so right, Rusty. When I was a music teacher and my instrumental students had trouble remembering the notes of a song, I had them memorize the lyrics and that helped them associate the melody with the words. Music and the other arts are inter-disciplinary and can contribute to students' ability to learn and develop critical thinking skills.

What she does with her voice I can't explain but it's like it casts a spell. There are a lot beautiful voices but hers is different from all the others.

8 years old child standing alone on a stage in the middle of a sea of people and delivering a performance that seasoned singers dream of.
I close my eyes and listen to this song, I’m being transported to a jazz bar in the southern part of the USA and I’m imagining myself sipping a drink and listening to a middle aged singer performing. I open my eyes and my brain suddenly short-circuits.
Not only is this such a stunning performance but it's amazing that she can sing in front of that many people without being the slight bit nervous.

This was the first Angelina video I saw a couple of years ago, and having been a fan of Afro-American music since my early teens I was blown away by her rendition of this song. How is it even possible for an 8 year old in Norway to understand this way of singing and all the nuances that go into making a musical statement like this? I became an instant fan and wish Angelina all the best in her further development of this unique talent. She is a very special girl - a young musical genius!

The delivery is so relaxed in this performance. When I first watched it I loved it but since I've listened to it again a few times I'm beginning to see the brilliant way she performs the song. There are such subtle nuances in the phrasing. There is one part where she holds the word you for 2 full measures. That negative space you talk about lets certain points in the song sink in. The whole delivery is really quite brilliant and the fact that she can cram so many vocal nuances into a performance that is only a few minutes long is like some kind of magic. This performance is like a diamond tiny but brilliant.
Angelina should have her own music. So perfect.

Thanks to Angelina’s mother’s and especially her grandmother’s love of jazz music, Angelia grew up listening to it from the time she was in her mother’s womb. As we can see Angelina developed a love for and the passion to want to sing in that genre. Her highly developed instincts and seemingly innate ability to be able to accurately interpret the adult content of the lyrics in addition to tapping into the right chords, phrases and the intended emotional feel of the song is uncanny. She really is the most remarkable, versatile, unique and supremely gifted young singing talent I know of.
