Hi Dan, no we didn’t take the plane. We were picked up from our Nairobi hotel by our safari guide. We wanted to experience the drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara. The drive was a bit bumpy at times and it also took 5+ hours but we really enjoyed it. If you want to enjoy just the safari part and also short on time then I would highly recommend that you take the plane.

We also took the road from the lodge to Nairobi. We will probably take the plane next time.
