This is incredible! I can't believe your self taught, and it's only been a few years. I've just started teaching myself. Do you have any advice? Training to follow, etc
Thanks, Shimmy! That depends on your goals. What would you like to get out of it? Do you want to sight read? Just play for fun? I suppose you could try it all and see what works for you. If I was starting today, I would pick a piece that I liked and work on it. For example, you pick a piece in C major (doesn't matter which one) - if you have 1h to play, practice C major scales for 10min and then practice the piece for 50min. If you want, include sight reading in this for 5min or something (you decide the times). That would be a good foundation. Also, here are some good channels that explain technique: Denis Zhdanov, Antune, Piano Secrets, Josh Wright and Piano Lab Hope that helps 👍🏼
that really helps! thanks so much! I don't mind what I get out of it, i just want to be able to play haha. playing by ear would be the ultimate goal for me. I'm currently using pianote, the teaching there has been really really good! I'll check out these other RUclipsrs too. @@luisgraca
@@shimmymorris1 yeah, lately I've been working on playing by ear as well. So for that it would be good to learn scales, chords, some theory. It makes it easier to figure out what the notes are. Or you can just reproduce what you listen to as well haha, up to you
It's beautiful... However, i have a question... How do you improvise a song without sheet music ? With chords ? I would like to do the same 😊 And how do you put the notes in bars of colors ? With a website ? Thanks for your answer, and keep playing because it's wonderful...

Thank you so much!
By ear, checking the chord progressions and a lot of trial and error
The program I use for the notes is SeeMusic 👍🏼
Thx ! And how do you know the chords progression ?
@@FreezlyYT for example you can google "Statues chord progression"
You can do that with most of the songs / pieces
Ok, I will try !
