@@Reynoldscraneservice i didn't know there are additional main boom extensions for 1250... lol. Is it like the 1500 where you have a shorter 50m boom and optional additional main boom section that allows for 84m boom?
@@mingming9604 I don’t think there are different main boom configurations, but there is 46’ of lattice boom extension that goes between the main boom head and the base of the jib. And then there is another 46’ of jib inserts that can go in the jib 👍🏽
Nice to see all detail in setup, looked like it took a lot longer than the lift. those yellow counterweights don't look that big, but each one makes the truck drop when put on the trailer. How long does it take to go from parking the crane to fully setup with counterweights?
All the counterweights are 10 metric tons other than the first one, which is 11 tons. Assembly time really depends on the configuration and the size and accessibility of the build site. For this job it was in a super congested area and we had a hard time getting the trucks backed in. This probably took every bit of 3+ hours to assemble.

In the UK we're quite lucky and can carry 60,000kg (132,277lbs) of ballast, the tackle box, big hook block and 4 mats on one trailer, altogether weighs about 90,000kg (198,416lbs) inclcuding tractor and trailer
I don’t really get to see that side of the business but I would imagine with the manpower, fuel, and equipment on site somewhere in the 8-15k range. This job was also around 90 miles from our shop.
Can you help me better understand boom dollies, why the crane should get an exception, slightest configuration? Looking to get into crane operator and just asking questions to better understand
@@tricallyourmama Sure! The only reason to use a book dolly is to distribute the weight of the crane over more axles. In my case, without being in the dolly I carry around 150,000lbs on 5 axles. Roughly 30,000lbs per axle. When I’m using the dolly, I carry 160,000lbs on 8 axles, so roughly 20,000lbs per axle. Different states in the us allow us different allowable axle loads, also certain bridges or routes may require that we use the dolly for a lighter axle weight 👍🏽

Just keep at it, man! They all operate similarly some are just more complex to assemble.
