Dragons Age: "What, who doesn't like Dragons!?" In Thedas, dragons are an apocalyptic event. The sign that everything and everyone will die. Thats... Thats like someone saying who doesn't like Hitler.
I could literally go to a church on sunday and sit through an entire session where the whole intention is to be preached to for hours, and still be less preached to than that short clip.
Right? At least at church they might reassure you that your sins are forgiven. Your sins are definitely NOT forgiven if you *dare* misgender one of these delusional idiots.
Isabela is like the last person who'd facilitate people's insanity like this. Her entire character in DA2 was about suffering zero bullshit. She always called a spade, a spade. She did that even with herself, which is where her internal conflict came from as she never denied being a "lying thieving snake". Her words. She's literally the last person in the entire series who'd ever be like this. It's absurd. It feels like AI. We're hearing her voice, but that's not her.
Holy shit... that 'misgendered so push ups' moment is actually a real cutscene in a (supposedly) AAA title for agame taking place in a fantasy medieval world... just let that sink in.
Yes, it is really a fall from grace, compared to how fresh (and potentially deeply insulting) the dialogue in DA:O felt. Heck, you can literally manipulate the poor "elven messenger" in Ostagar into giving you a valuable sword, that was meant for someone else. And afterwards even kill him.
Correction; that is the most damning thing anyone could said about any writing. For the writing to feel that bad, is apocalyptic for someone who writes scripts, discographies, all of it. If your writing gives your readers that feeling. You haven't just failed, you have catastrophically failed. Which makes me think this was not written by a person but an AI. More over, anyone who understands what that presence in the room means, its the most damning thing anyone could of said about anyone's job. NOBODY likes HR. They are tolerated because they are necessary to a point, but not to the degree in which they have power in the work place now.
Isn't it comical that if gender studies was actually about studying the genders, what they value, what they dislike, differences etc to help shape society to be safer, more productive etc but instead it's pure ideology and hatred for men.
Imagine being a Goblin in this universe who identifies as a High Elf, and the way you beat a party that invaded your goblin camp is to guilt them into pushups while you set them on fire.
Veilguards dialogue reminds me of a children's tv show where the whole conversation is just to teach you something with jokes sprinkled in so the child doesn't get bored.
What are the odds you could do a full evil playthrough and never have even the OPTION to misgender someone? Can you even do a renegade playthrough with this game?
What is this, a kids show? Are the characters gonna look straight at the camera and ask “what would you do to say you’re sorry?” Because that’s what watching this felt like
exactly. because these people think and act like children. it's all they are capable of. acting like adults and thinking of adult problems makes their heads spin. they can't handle it.
IGN and any other game journalist/website has always been a red flag. They lost their integrity, their pride, their hard work, the trust from the people when they started catering to these "modern audiences" and sold out to the other devs for money and they have been doing all of that for many many years!
"It's not dialogue. It's a sermon." I couldn't have said it better myself. I didn't feel immersed at all watching that clip. I felt like I was getting preached to. I felt like I was taking a sensitivity training module at work. I got completely pulled out of the world of Dragon Age and pulled into the HR office.
After she made her point, I'd roll my eyes and be like "okay, whatever". BUT THEN IT JUST KEEPS GOING! And then right after she says "some people make the apology all about themselves". Like you just did push-ups in front of everyone and are STILL talking about it!
Funny how that dialogue is about making the apology about themselves, while the character is making the apology completely about herself. I think there was a gas leak in the writers room when they came up with this trite.
Remember in KOTOR1 when you get to tell your wookie slave to rip the arms off his teenage Twi'Lek childhood companion who had been in your party since the early game as proof of his loyalty to you, just because you can. If you wanna make the player genuinely feel bad for being a dick, that's how you do it. With that said, I feel like every conversation in this game should have that dialogue option. Would be much more entertaining.
And mathist that they can count to 10 (which they can’t here, she does 6) Now that all these DEI and Sweet Baby Inc-touched games are finally coming out at around the same time and all being shit, so many shareholders are going to lose so much money… it’s hilarious, really When they want to make money again they’ll have no choice but to exorcise wokeness entirely from gaming, hype

Isabela is like the last person who'd facilitate people's insanity like this. Her entire character in DA2 was about suffering zero bullshit. She always called a spade, a spade. She did that even with herself, which is where her internal conflict came from as she never denied being a "lying thieving snake". Her words.
