Hey guys, I did some testing for an easy mode alac build that maintains protection, 25 might and alacrity. To maintain it, you just have to obtain around 40-45% boon duration and alternate between fire and earth on cooldown and use both overload on cooldown as well. Easy 29k dps and boons :) You can also provide swiftness (regeneration) by swapping to air (water) quickly before going back to fire! While I don't have the runes and such yet, I looked at this and tried it in wandering open world with some tweaks to specific stats and got 100% uptime on alac. Dunno my DPS output but I like that Alac uptime. :) I focused on that first. Thanks for providing a basis for me to work off of! I was searching for simple rotations and this is a good starting point.
Thank god for you! i almost quit the game and then i found this build after burning my self out on piano weaver :P Blasting 37-39k with this build (almost 5k more then my weaver build) altho im using malice+bursting runes :) Easiest sub/like of my life! You da man!
I just returned to the game and I have crazy amounts of gold. So I'll be doing an overhaul of my tempest I think. It's weird how stepping away will make you forget a lot
An Ele build I might actually want to play? Whaaaat? Do you think gaining access to sword with the incoming weapon mastery update will help this one much, or do you not see it changing?
I don't seem to be able to maintain as higher stacks of fire as you and only manage to get 27k dps. I don't have full ascended gear yet but am not entirely sure what I am doing wrong. That is 27k without food so maybe that last 5% burn duration is the cause?
Hey mate! I love this video, as im on day 3 of my lvl 80 Elementalist (just fully unlocked Tempest) I am hoping you may have a quick note/s on how to start a fight? Should i start fights causing the longest duration burns or longest cooldown skills? Also, have you tried Hammer since Soto release? Cheers! 😊 Also, was this video made with Legendary equipment on? What would be the dps estimate with exotic? Update: I am in full Ascended gear (including trinkets etc) and am only putting out 18-20k dps
Just triedtm this and you recent catalyst build. They seem to be doing almost the same amount of damage. I have to say I love both. Still don't have legendary armor. Do you think these two will do well in SotO? Also would like to see a similat condi weaver build :)
It's not a large difference, but focus 5 gives you another aura to maintain tempestuous aria, so the difference when camping fire is larger than it was before the patch :(
Hey Masel, great guide, thanks for sharing! I just have one question: Why don't you use all viper gear and accessories with elementalist rune and smoldering sigil? This will land you at 96.87% burning duration + much more power from the runes. Do you value the 10% max health from balthazar that much, since I would assume my described setup is more damage?
Your described setup is not more damage :) that's why. The setup I use is the setup with the highest damage. You can use the discretize gear optimizer to test that
This build almost exclusively applies burning, so the 50% burning duration on balthazar runes is much more valuable than 10% overall condi duration and power on ele runes.
I've done benches on this today, I get close to 39k dps now :) Rune is still balthazar, relic is still up for further testing. I used krait for now as it was available from the container.
Thank you for the video! I have a question about Rune. You didnt mention about Rune so balthazar is best? or just use because it's cheap? I mean Nightmare is better than balthazar? or I have to use balthazar for this build?
For alac you have to swap to earth to apply enough of it. You can make that relatively simple though, with around 30% boon duration you're pretty much safe
Nice video, this is super low intensity and achieve great result, it's close to mechanist 🤣 Is this possible to tune this to do power tempest ? or even power alac tempest ?
Is dagger offhand worth using if you take the stability on overloads trait? I don't mind the focus (binding of ipos rocks) just would like to use dagger from time to time.
If you choose to not run focus, you should always run warhorn instead. Dagger isn't really worth it. You can run. It of course, but it's either lower range, lower utility and lower damage than the other two options.
@MaselMMO very quick reply, thanks I was playing about with dagger to get a feel, I do love the focus especially with ipos. Finds out after getting jormag dagger skin, haha. My thief will like the combo with kralk dagger so all good.

With the new changes today would u go mesmer or thief? For OW and generally pve stuff with casual pvp

the scourge in your team must be very pro after this patch
This build and elite spec is probably the closest it'll be to reaper.
Now my smooth reaper brain can finally say it can play elementalist

Flame legion rune provide 50% burn duration and + 7% strike dmg against burning enemies

Can I use dagger instead of scepter?
Yes you can, but you wont gain damage, put yourself in melee and lose blast finishers, so you also have lower might output for allies and yourself.

Is there a viable build with full grieveing stats, Sc/Wh , Fire and Air traits?
With grieving you can use fire / arcane, air is not really a hybrid attunement.
