Was that a husband and wife team driving those 2 trucks? I follow Super Trucker Dan. He's a flatbedder for Mercer out of Arizona. They appear to be a good company to drive for. I believe all owner/operator. Excellent backing job.

Safety tip:. If you're going to slide tandems after backing all the way into the slot, don't back alllll the way to bump the dock first. There could be anxious dock workers that open their door and drop the dock plate while you get back in the truck. You slide forward while someone steps into your trailer to remove load locks = disaster. I like stopping a full foot or two short of the dock just so there's no way anyone inside knows you're set. Then slide tandems, back all the way in, turn off lights. Never crunched anyone yet.
Great job backing. One think I used to do when I had to move the tandems back was to, as you did, get lined up well, go back release the lock, pull ahead, then back up very slowly to the dock. If you do it correctly the tandems won't move and then when you are done, you just pull up, set your trailer brakes, and slide the tandems back to where you want them. Saves a couple of steps. Just the way I did it years ago.
It's always enjoyable to watch your videos. Kevin stays calm and cool even when things are going array. Love the fun loving personality you both possess. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for sharing your awesome videos. Kevin your backing skills are awesome..Well done. I will be looking for more of your content. Much love from Wolfie here in Rhode Island.
My Aunt and uncle use to drive truck for over 45 years. He started off hauling swinging beef and then other products. Then they bought some land that came with a large building so they could service the equipment. They had quite a few trucks and trailers that would run from Chicago to west coast and back. I was laid off for a few months and worked for them either changing oil or whatever they wanted even worked at their house. My aunt for so many years got by without a driver's license, not sure how. Then he got cancer and they had to sell their business and trucks.
Good job backing. I have a tip/suggestion for you. When you need to slide the tandems back, you can pull the lock handle out when you open your doors. You can then do your backing in, the tandems will not move unless you want them to. After you get lined up straight with the dock, you can proceed to slide the tandems without getting in and out of the truck. Also, there's no need to lock the tandem slide while being loaded, especially if you're only going to slide them forward again when done loading.

Hey Kevin, I been to that customer before LOTS OF TIME , THAT AERA is big enough to just drive in close to the left , then TURN AROUND !! So you DONT HAVE TO " BACK " IN. BUT SEEING UR A " ROOKIE " YOU DONT KNOW YET. I drove for shit Crete for 6 FUCKEN years
Definitely good at backing up the rig. May I suggest you consider a camera with a stabilizer or use a gimbal for motion video. It would enhance the quality of the good job you already do.
Do you ever get to stop and take in attractions or just what you see as your driving? I understand wheels have to turn to make money. Just curious. Love the videos. Thanks.
You just missed one of the greatest thing about Memphis when you crossed the river. St Jude children's hospital was on the left.
