Hello. Timed runs, albeit embarrassing for the stock 395, are posted in the description. Along with some additional information, as usual. Pursing the description might answer a question or two beforehand. Thanks for watching.
I've watched a LOT of saw videos on you tube, yours are far and away the best. Stock vs ported seems like a no brainer to me if you port saws yet you are the only one who does it. Really like your disassembled comparisons too. No real wood to cut here in Florida, still like chainsaws. Bought a German made 7900 many years ago, had to sell it after couple of years, needed the money. Just bought a blue copy of my second favorite saw last week(372xp).
Jack, in your humble opinion who would come out in top? Your torque monster 481 or this zipped 395? Would be an interesting comparison considering the 461 gives up almost 20 cc's
Mr Beelar is a badass. Super nice I’ve talked to him on the phone for 40 mins on the phone one night. He definitely knows his shit. He’s got much respect from me.
@@stephanmackie5281 I watch alot of his videos and I am thoroughly impressed. Granted, I dont understand all of it but it sure sounds good LOL. What is his email adress?
@@mr.fridggyyy5826 look under his description. It’s dangercat something something. Under description of the video. He’s got a lot written there. Bottom bit has his email
Jim hi. There are two "big kid" saws in the wind as far as I know. 585 & 592. The 390 replacement has been spoken of for at least 7yrs that I know of. The 395 "upgrade" is about the same. Either, neither, both, will, might, possibly be available at a dealer near you this fall. That may, or may not, be all I know. Thanks for watching. .
Hey nice working saw. I got a 395 and I can’t get to rev 12500. I can turn the screw all the way in and won’t get there. Any idea what might be wrong?how many turns out should get the right rpm?
chocryder hi. In stock form they have limiter caps preventing more than a turn of rotation on both the high & low speed needles. I think that the factory states optimum rpm for that saw in stock form is 12.5. In stock form it sounds like they are going to explode much above that rpm threshold to me anyway. I would put more emphasis on the screen color. Dark brown and it's about right. Probably won't blow it up from a to lean condition either. Best of luck & thanks for watching.
Then there is some sort issue... Could be a charge flow issue, whether it be air or fuel, or both. That could a restriction on the exhaust side as well It could also be an ignition coil snafu. I've seen where they are bad when new. I'd also check the air gap. It's is about impossible to tell what's wrong "over the phone". You might have to bust into the piggy bank and hit a reputable shop fir a little diagnostic session, lol.
@@hotsaws101 I had a a new hyway top end on it and thought it might be the problem. I since taken that off and put a oem cylinder with the hyway piston. Do you think it could ever be the carb? I did a carb kit to Thanks
@@chocryder hyway commonly have more quench distance than oem, this will give lower compression and less than oem performance. .005 brass sheet makes a suitable base gasket rather than removing it all together. Maybe measure it (squish) and and have the appropriate amount machined off the bottom of the cylinder. A guy shouldn’t have to put that kind of effort to regain stock performance but, it is what it is.

Jack you must be speaking of the new 592 and the tach situation? Hope it's as good as they say.
