Good processor, I have an identical too. I can play newer games on low-medium settings, but sometimes there are frametime stutering. But I am currently in a dilemma regarding the maximum temperature under CPU load. The Intel website says TCase 72.72 Celsius, and the Core Temp Tj Max Temp 100 Celsius. And I don't know which temperature is correct? I have replaced the stock box cooler with a Cooler Master Standard Cooler I70C and try to keep the temperature around 71 degrees. I set the cooler speed max to 75 percent under load. But I did not replace the stock thermal paste that was applied to the Cooler Master, it is possible it is the cause of high temperatures.

my 970 died and i wanted to look into used 1070 Ti but a lot of people told me 4690 will be too weak for it and FPS will suffer.

I have also i5 4590 paired with 1050ti gpu. The result is great because i can play valorant with 250 fps low settings while in medium settings it gives 190 fps stable Rawr i would choose this proci than i5 7th gen hahaha

maybe is motherboard is H97 pro gamer, updated BIOS, sometimes it's the processor, different processor sometimes give different performance even same model
