Back in the day, I thought I was one of those people who noticed the wrestler who set up the table will 98% be the one going through it and thinking that it was a curse. Lol.
My wife has only been watching wrestling for about 2 years now. Last Monday on Raw, Miz went to get a table. My wife said "don't set that table up Miz! He who sets up the table, goes through the table!"
Some people won't get how this channel exerts effort to collect all those footages. It's not as easy as searching RUclips for "Wrestling 9 Count Out" or something. They really did their digging. And on the first trope, they even went the extra mile to collect footages from the false finishes and with the same superstar, a rare occurrence when the move did finish the match. What a channel.
Sami Zayn's blue thunder bomb "the least devastating move in all of sports entertainment" Simon Miller started calling it that, in contrast to "the most devastating move in all of sports entertainment.. the rollup" because Sami NEVER won with that move, then he got that one pinfall win with the blue thunder bomb and it was hilarious.. but now it is back to being "the least devastating move in all of sports entertainment"
6:20 - so glad you included the Booker T clip of Booker T, commentating Booker T's assault, while Booker T assaults everyone else in the ring... ...i still havent said Booker T's name as many times as he did, during that segment :-P
That’s why I like guys with multiple finishing moves. For example AJ Styles. He has the phenomenal forearm, styles clash, and the calf crusher. All of these moves typically win him matches. But back in tna he also used the spiral tap which got wins too!!
When I started watching wrestling, my dad always said “whoever sets up the table, goes through it” every time someone sets up a table I go “oh no.” Especially if it’s my favourite wrestler who sets up the table.
when it comes to the false finish trope i honestly wish wrestlers won more matches w regular moves or maybe some signature moves because the false finishes would actually matter like no one wins a match unless they hit their finisher so literally 99% of pins have no intensity behind them at all
Clichés are most of wrestling history. Last man standing? Heel dominating using weapons, finishers, a couple of cannons and a nuke...And the face wins after a finisher. RA era steel cage: the heel is a coward constantly trying to escape the cage as soon as possible.
I've noticed that countouts are slower now in days than they were back in the Hulkamania era. Back then the ref counted faster. And it's also the reason why allot of matches ended in count out. But now in days when the referee does make the ten count. They wait for a few seconds after each count. And when the ref reaches 9. They wait a few seconds longer.
a lot of more-recent "False Finishes" have the failed pin be such a surprise, even though it was only like the 5th move of the match...im fine with having early pin-attempts, and plenty of 2-counts, but all im saying is to tone down the 'selling'...like, if the pinning wrestler made a face that was more like "yeah, i figured itd take more than That to win..." instead of the usual "HOW DID YOU KICK OUT OF THAT IRISH WHIP?!"
The biggest cliche of wrestling is the babyface always having some issue with the boss...all the way from Bret Hart to Roman with Vince and Triple H being the heel
Table spots follow that rule, because you dont wanna get sued because your partner screws up the position of the table. Wrestlers shoot about this, saying its for safety reasons
The 'Go Home Math' theory has to be the most overblown thing in wrestling history. Every time you see it happen, you think it happens every time but it doesn't. A better trope are dives to the outside NEVER missing. There supposed to be high risk but no one wants to splat to the outside so the opponent simply never dodges. It's just lame.
I hate the idea of false finishes with close kickouts. Gets more annoying with the commentary. A wrestler should sometimes get a win or two with their signature moves as well. At least against jobbers
...and of course, Cheap Heat is countered by the Cheap Pop, which is basically the same technique but in a more Positive manner...i think Mick Foley was the "most-often user" of the ol tried-and-true 'its great to be here in [city name]!' but my memory isnt that great...
i HATE just how often the person who is going to lose on the PPV wins on the last show before the ppv... it's like 99% of the time, and has been going on for over 40 years now!! as if the stuff wasn't already predictable anyway, makes it less worth watching the ppv. i think whoever props a chair up between the turnbuckles is even more likely they will get slammed into it then the one setting up a table.
Cliche predictable and always know what's going to happen and yet we find ourselves actually being so invested into everything they do....think about that....that's the E in entertainment fellas
the fact adam cole is a wrestler blows me way he looks like a 14 year old girl him marco stunt, orange cassidy, jungle boy embarrasing to pro wrestling

Always Happened to Me In Games too Lol
except the dudley’s “🗣️GET THE TABLES!”
Booker T commentating his own match is hilarious 😂 you can tell he's having so much fun with it
Whaddya mean Booker T commentating? That was clearly Black Snow
My wife has only been watching wrestling for about 2 years now. Last Monday on Raw, Miz went to get a table. My wife said "don't set that table up Miz! He who sets up the table, goes through the table!"

I’ve noticed the go home show momentum trend for some years now. You watch a Raw and Smackdown and it’s like “Damn, they still losing at the ppv”
6:19 Booker T's voice 😂
going for a pin after a move you've never won with always makes me laugh.
6:20 - so glad you included the Booker T clip of Booker T, commentating Booker T's assault, while Booker T assaults everyone else in the ring...

I love the fact that there was 4 Blue Thunder Bomb's in the False Finish section of this video & EVERY SINGLE ONE was on AJ Styles 🤣

Booker T commentating himself whooping ass was hilarious
Those Kurt Angle comments with no context are crazy 😂
Here's one, He who enters 1st in a PPV Match, Loses the Match plus Yes the Last Man Standing before a PPV, loses the Match
Booker T whopping wrestlers while talking on the mic is classic 😂😂
At this point, LITERALLY every part of a wrestling match is a cliche 😂
The creativity well ran dry LONG ago.
Honestly true. Most of it has already been done, even if people don't remember

Another predictable cliche is in ring "wedding" segments. Name me one segment like that, that doesn't end in a disaster.
Dexter & Indy's!!
I liked how dean ambrose was like “we all know how this is gonna end anyway, I call dibs on the table” lol 😂

The biggest cliche of wrestling is the babyface always having some issue with the boss...all the way from Bret Hart to Roman with Vince and Triple H being the heel
nothing beats booker doing his own commentary
I can't really call myself a Sami Zayn fan but that Blue Thunder Bomb is sick
Vince was 100% correct about the UK sadly at least if his perspective was mainly on London.
Table spots follow that rule, because you dont wanna get sued because your partner screws up the position of the table. Wrestlers shoot about this, saying its for safety reasons
It seems like every match in wwe recently has a spot with the announce table
16:08 How's that not considered cheap heat? I'm surprised it counts at heat at all lmao
I personally love false finishes because it can make the match better and the crowd go more wild.
Blue Thunder Bomb really should be a finisher. Looks beautiful everytime Sami does it
