Yinz really need to calm down with labeling guys future stars. He was very promising out of the gate last year, then faded hard down the stretch. Hit the rookie wall. This year he’s on the ground a ton, he was consistently beat up and embarrassed in the Colts game. Does he have nearly Tuitt-level POTENTIAL? Yes, I’ll give you that. But we do these guys a disservice when we assume they’ll be stars. Enjoy them as solid players who could develop into more than that, but we’ve seen it happen too many times (Devin Bush, Ryan Shazier, Tuitt…) to heap all those expectations on players. We’re also setting ourselves up for disappointment.
The same could be said of every defensive player. The NFL invited the devil in when they got in bed with gambling, they need to get this legalized holding thing under control or people are going to lose faith in football as a gambling product.
@@andregranston3079 TJ is mugged every every single snap with absolute impunity. It’s not a rookie thing, it’s a scoring thing. Same as juiced baseballs. Casuals love scoring; real fans find just as much (if not more) enjoyment in a pitcher’s duel as they do in a shoot-out.
I think that rule will be gone after one year, like reviewable PI. It’s going to be an unmitigated disaster all year but it won’t reach fever pitch until it starts affecting the golden boy Chiefs.
