The Nerf Vortex has actually been around since the '90s. I remember playing with the full size ones when I was a kid.

Lol, not many are going to know what that means without a google search first. At least this one's not lethal for the most part.
I'm going to say that once people realize this is actually out there on shelves, this product will see some Nerf war usage for grenades to break shields etc.

I only remembered atlatl's from actually enjoying history class, and knowing about tribesmen that used them to great effect in hunting large game and in combat.
The Howler football is a bit firmer foam than the typical run of the mill foam basketballs and cheaper footballs and can take a bit of a beating. It hits a person with a thud but isn't something that's going to injure someone. I think it's something that would fit the role of being anti shield or a grenade.
