I went to Ireland not terribly long after this movie came out, and just after the peace was called in Northern Ireland. It was a fascinating time in Belfast. I took photos of an IRA funeral, from what I thought was a respectable distance, while in a cemetery, and my film was stolen out of my camera in my hostel. Yikes.
People were not fooling around at that time. I went to London during Feb 1992 and there was a bomb scare. Something about my new passport, my cash ticket, and having no connections plus my name and hometown (Boston, Mass.) set off some profiling and I was questioned both in and out of the UK and had a scary feeling of being followed a few times. Was relived to get back home.
