Great perspective Cormac, your approach to having fun and enjoying the run is much better long term and more sustainable. Aiming for 5 & 10km events for a person that has a family & works is a better fit. I started to run in my early 40's and got hooked hard. Did manage to finish the Chicago marathon after 2 years of running, including 5 half marathons. In my mind 10km's were a joke, too short. But now due to constant injuries haven't run much since. Doing 5 & 10kms for at least 3-4 years would have been a better idea, rather than jumping into half and full marathons. Keep up the running. At 10.23 in the video, interesting sound effect at the graveyard.

Thanks for the comment :) Yeah the all or nothing approach to anything in life can have a lot of negative consequences on your head especially, so even doing a little bit of something at a time in whatever interest you have is great. I know it's easier said that done but you're not in competition with anyone else and that goes for yourself too. If you like something do as little or as much of it as you'd like at whatever level you'd like and have fun.
