Cool and professional gameplay , speaks of a long experience 👍🏻 It is interesting to see a gameplay with different perk assembly and combat tactics , for example , it is much more interesting and difficult not to get caught by hunters playing for a ghost or a gorgon , whose XP is not great and there is little fighting 😈
"Crazy how GOOD this 10yr old game looks!! " Youre not wrong. That was arguably "part of the problem" for the game though when it came out. I agree entirely- This game looks amazing, even for being 10 years old- it still looks damn good by todays standards (And I feel were really only just starting to see games advance beyond this point). One of the (many) things with this game, is it was a massively expensive AAA game that basically had the *entire* PVP budget spent on these assets. On one hand- This is why it looks so good (I could rant for ages about the animations of this game alone. Even by todays standards, they were ahead of the curve in so many ways and are still advanced in their own rights on some levels). On the other hand, these assets had *huge* price tags. Monsters in particular were expensive. *Very* expensive- with 7+ digit price tags attached to them on a development point of view (Some of these monsters took literal teams years to flesh out and incorporate). The thing is, that translated into the price tag and business model of the game (2ks doing btw, not TRS. Trs wanted to make this game f2p from the start. 2k had other ideas because of the price tag and investment)- And its *very* difficult to for gamers to appreciate this type of stuff when it comes down to spending money. Normally a game like this wouldve had the budget split (not necessarily 50/50, but split) between a "proper campaign mode", and the PVP side- But they didnt want to do that. They wante to make the best PVP game they could, and instead of spending 10s of millions of dollars on a campaign that lets be real- very few people woudlve actually "finished" anyways, they spent it all on the pvp. So a lot of gamers (at the time) felt like the game was "incomplete". This and a lot of other things doomed the game.
@@SidewaysGts Well said! I enjoyed reading that from start to finish! Turtle Rock had the passion for the game and they wanted to expand it by adding so many cool things like new hunter variants and monsters and even bringing stage 2 to consoles but 2k shut them down way too soon
@@uhemi09 "Turtle Rock had the passion for the game and they wanted to expand it by adding so many cool things like new hunter variants and monsters and even bringing stage 2 to consoles but 2k shut them down way too soon" Agree entirely. Evolve is admittedly one of my favorite games of all time- I try not to get too pedantic / long winded, but it can be difficult lol. Those variants were largely a "money saving" idea - A way to add new gameplay assets at a substantially reduced cost. Give it a skin, swap the mechanics of the abilities- Voila, entirely new hunter/monster. I had the fortune of being friends with some developers at TRS at the time- And it was a total blast. I was NDA'd a couple times and got to see/preview a lot of upcoming content, got to test with the actual balance team, etc. I miss the heck out of this game.

Imagine this game with updates every few weeks like DBD, with events, new monsters, hunters every 2 o 3 months, It came out at a time when it was not popular, for me this game came out ahead of its time, now it is full of 1vs4 killer vs survi, I don't know how old it is but I remember seeing it in 2011? If you think about it at that time this genre was not as exploited as it is now and that is why it was forgotten.
ya I loved evolve but them fucking up the marketing and the content was fricken ridicoules. my most fun memories from it tho was with griffin tracking and hooking the monster specifically placing his sound spikes in key areas the monster usaly has to travel through meanwhile hooking the monster is so dahn fun. also with the spider monster were i got my last evolve and just waiting in a cave at the ceiling for the players to go in like a horror movie XD meanwhile my friend was yelling "dont go in there!" I'm going to make a video of the that has the prime skin cause i like it cause it looks like gold you better make a video of the prime skin on the goliath
"How is meteor Goliath different from normal Goliath?" At the core of it: Goliath does up front burst damage. All of meteor goliaths abilities do less up front damage, but apply a fire DOT (4 ticks per second over 6 seconds for 10 damage per tick) that you want to spread across the hunters to chip them down. Meteor goliath also had a smidge more armor, and was a bit faster than regular goliath (largely becauseLeap smash went further, charge went further, etc). Few other nuances (Radius of abilities, knock back differences, etc- but largely trivial) By all means from a meta perspective, core goliath was better. At the end of the day "burst" damage was the predominant element that won games, DOTs, if hunters managed resources, were easily dealt with. But Meteor Goliath was way cooler.
They should make Evolve 2, bigger and better.
Opem world with at least 100 players.
2 monsters and 12 hunters at a time would be nuts

Make it to where Monsters can eat people and it's visceral like it would be if it's actually happening and the hunters react dynamically.
