I've been experimenting with proton guns in the powder toy and discovered that a one pixel wide gap in the insulation gives it the accuracy of a shotgun, at 99999 life DEUT I have caused planets to melt and Vibranium to basically overload in seconds. It's highly effective and can be made fairly small.
That might work because virus gas is flammable and also can turn fire into virus but does eventually decay. This actually only work is if it has constant gravitational energy in the middle and it produces a lot of heat
In terms of using deuterium, cool it enough for it to shrink right down, then add more and repeat until you have a super concentrated mass of white deuterium, then just add the usual protons or neutrons. Heccing boom. Sometimes I also use freeze powder to do the cooling for me.

Just use the edit tool and set life of deut to 9999 and wait for a proton ;)
