- Understanding how to maintain your humidifier is essential for homeowners to help improve air quality and ease the problems of dry air in your home.
It is important to know how the humidistat works to change the humidity for the times of year and the corresponding weather, and also how to tackle a few basics of humidifier operation such as checking and cleaning the filter to keep it operating efficiently and effectively.

Thank you for this video, I am a new tech and I ran into one of these in a home and I had no idea how it worked, this will help me for the future thank you again!
You didn't tell how to clean the filter....what product you buy?
Thank you for the the video , unfortunately I facing one problem , same humid fire's distributor pipe broken from top connector to filter ,how to fix that please
I have a clear hose below it, is it OK to put warm water/soap solution down it or should I just change it?
Great video, really helpful. By any chance do you know how to clean the condensation pipe attached to the humidifier?
Very good info, thanks.
Thank you so much stay bless forever ❤

Who can we call to get the humidifier cleaned
Please know water filters should NOT be cleaned. They are made of a metal base with a hydrophilic coating that holds water. To clean the filter means you also remove the coating that actually holds the water while hot air is sent through the pad. With no water (metal does not hold water) you do not get humidification.
Are you sure that you only open a 1/4 turn on a 1/4 turn shutoff? I think you may be confused and are guiding us with incorrect procedure. I believe the shutoff should be fully open, which would be a 1/4 turn. I hope this makes sense to you.
You or someone may know this... and I'll try to be as brief as I can.
*IT TURNS OUT I COULDN'T BE SO BRIEF! SORRY ABOUT THAT.*
So, thinking outside the box, what I wondering (and/or searching for) is a METAL humidifier pad, 10" x13" (same format as HC26A, more or less)....
*BUT without the metal being coated with clay!*
Long story short, as a gadget designer guy, I have totally redesigned our larger portable humidifier to be computerized and to NOT use those horrible "paper" pads that just turn into bacteria producers.
Rather, I am using *HC26A* media, which is metal but sadly, with clay coating.
The controller I've designed monitors humidity, temperature and water level.
It controls a little fountain pump that spritzes water over top of 2 of these filters, to keep them wet.
I don't have to replace them, only clean them. This setup works so much better than the old wick ones as those get nasty and dry near the middle to top and no longer suck up the water.
Mine has fresh water pumped over them every 60 seconds or so.
But the problem is, the danged CLAY, that coats the metal ones, does begin to grow algae and also get stinky.
So it's a pain, because cleaning them isn't just running fresh water over them.
I have to take them out, let them soak in bleach for an hour or 2, rinse them off, then bake them in the over at a high temperature for an hour or 2.
While this works, it is a pain.
So what I'm looking for, would be exactly these metal pad but *WITHOUT* the clay coating.
*Does anything like that even exist? Metal humidifier pads without any coatings? Just plain metal where the cross sections are "cupped" to hold drops of water?*
If I can't find anything like that, I guess that I have only 2 possible options.
1) buy another set of the same filters so that when I need to clean one set, I can just put in a fresh set, clean the old ones, store them and then switch-aroo when needed.
2) harder option, is to design a pad to the dimensions I need and 3D print it in PETG filament. The hard part there is to get the grid designed well so that when water is poured over it, there would be tiny reservoirs that hold a drop or two so that when the air passes through the pad, the humidity is released. Doable, but until I do it, I'm not sure how well that will work. Cleaning them would be much easier, however. All I'd have to do is to use a hose to "pressure" clean it all out, then put them in bleach for a few minutes.
*For those reasons, I'm wondering if anyone knows if metal, without clay coating, even exists and if so, where I can find it????*
Thanks in advance.
Which direction is for winter on the humidifier?
So that it's in an opened position
Filter or water panel?
They come by different names: water filter, water panel, humidifier filter, vapor pad, etc.
Yet doesn’t tell you how to descale the membrane 🙄
This filter is not supposed to be cleaned, just replaced yearly.
1:24 and 1:34 he says what? Sell lots of membranes, do ya?😂
