I was about to write that I can watch a 4 hours video of you guys playing, until I saw this comment. Makes sense, you guys need to make a living. I like (mostly) your party games sessions, but I love watching those heavy games ones. Announce an Eclipse Second Dawn session, and I'll toss a coin to my witchers. A Dune (gale force 9) and I'll throw the whole wallet. Probably my favorites playthrough to watch, love the chemistry between you all and the humor.
@@readilium3432 just judging by the few times I played BG it seems more balanced. Each time I've played winning and losing the game has came down to one dice roll.
I have really come to enjoy the crew playing these more complex games lately. The party game episodes are gems of course, but these more complex, beefy games show so much more tension and insight into everyone else's psyche. Love it so much.
Adam: Jon, do you trust me to do the thing we all have been setting me up to do? Jon has flashbacks of all the times he's trusted Carley, and others in Blood on the Clocktower only to be betrayed: Yeah Adam I trust you.
Jon Gracey loosing his mind after being betrayed is so entertaining. Poor Jon can't catch a break being betrayed by Carley every game in BOTC and by Adam and Laurie here. Loved this game!!!
Bro this episode was so freaking brilliant. Adam's reveal was obviously epic but also starting at 1:50:20 when they all start railing on Laurie and he's adamantly denying it and everyone just starts yelling at each other had me literally crying from laughter for a good 5 minutes. omfg so hilarious
Been waiting for this! Unfathomable and Nemesis were the games I was most looking forward too this year. Thanks so much all! Your game sessions are always a delight.
I've never watched any of your videos before, but holy shit the production quality of this is insane. Now to get completely lost in the backlog of videos you've got for me to catch up on
This was easily one of the best BGC episodes. Thanks for the opportunity to not know who the traitors were because that really helped get me invested in the game.
"Or should we say, Fishmael" - yep, Brooke just won BGC! The outcome of the rest of the game doesn't matter! I feel like Laurie's playing most of this game by attacking Jon's sanity directly. 😂
Another great game entertainingly played by the BGC gang! This series continues to be the highlight of my week. However a few weeks ago Twilight Imperium appeared atop the kallax in the background, proudly surveying our heroes... and now i watch each video hoping to see that glorious space lion appear in the vault!
I recently got gifted this game, as it's basically a remaster of one of my favourites, Battlestar Galactica. I loved this episode, and I honestly didn't catch Laurie as a bad guy until that important skill check (I did get a read on you though Adam!) Minor rules clear up. I don't think these would have made a difference though. 1: Laurie, while not starting with any cards in his hand as the first player, should have drawn some cards at the start of his first turn. You don't skip that part. 2: Revealed traitors no longer draw a mythos card at the end of their turn. So the one drawn after Adam revealed would not have happened. Other than that, great episode! This is the one thing my partner and I have subbed to on patron and we don't regret it in the least.
First player is suppose to start their turn by drawing cards according to their character skills. So, in this game the captain should have some cards to play on the first mythos crisis. At least that what I understood by reading the rules.
Definitely, That's why the first player gets no cards in the setup as they are about to draw them at the start of their turn. Then all players can be involved in the first skill check.
Can't believe I just spent 2 hours watching other people playing a board game but I have to say... fucking brilliant. Have a new subscriber to your channel. Jon is hilarious and Adam makes a great host!
That was a hilarious watch. Pretty sure we were a few steps away from a full Jon head explosion there at one point. I will say (spoilers for the end ahead)... This game seems veeeery difficult to win as a good player. With the game itself constantly leaving the good team on the back foot with few options and almost half your team working to make it even harder, I'm not sure how the humans are supposed to get a win. As soon as Adam joined team BadFish, everyone else was already screwed. They just didn't know it yet. Looks fun (and beautiful), but I question the balancing.
Based on BSG plays/watches, it is a brutal game. But if the humans figure out who the traitors are, it gets much harder for them to negatively affect things.
Timestamp 1:50:00 Jon's decent into madness is complete. 🤣🤣 Bucket list updated; if I ever find myself in London, to sit at that table for a game with this crew. You folks are epic!
I have enjoyed 90% of all the BGC episodes, but this one seems to have blown all of the previous ones out of the water! Yes, pun totally intended. The best 2 hours of 2021, easily.
Finally! Have been waiting for an upload from you guys. Looking forward to your next masterpiece video, you manage to convince me to buy the game every time… you are a marketing genius.
Yo, great show. From many play throughs of bsg back in the day, you can inadvertantly reveal your loyalty if you say how many or how big of each type of skill card you put in to a skill check. We stuck to saying whether we can help a lot or not much.
My roommate has been longing for this game since it came out. I feel like this episode will be the final rocking of the boat that will push him over the edge lol.
It's funny how you guys are playing a game I just got myself. But yeah I'm loving all the games ya'll end up showing off. Can't wait for the inevitable Chinatown episode and fingers crossed, VERY CROSSED that even this table can handle ECLIPSE (which is probably my favorite 4x game)

Absolutely love this, been watching along with all of your videos and ive ended up booking to go to Draughts this saturday with some mates you've inspired me to love complex boardgames!
I'm not sure if the gang got the "or" cards wrong or if my playgroup has - at 19:01, I believe Edmund chooses whether to do the top half of the card and resolve the skill check, or do the bottom half of the card and skip the skill check for a smaller penalty than failing (there would still be lots of treachery in the chaos deck, but he wouldn't be defeated in the process).
Absolutely bonkers show, so good!!! I had a feeling, along with Adam, that Laurie was up to no good! Glad I chose to keep my eyes closed during the reveals; definitely more exciting that way. Keep it up and can't wait for Dune, aka "Movie tie-in Cosmic Encounter"!!!
My board games to buy list grows after this episode. Question: how complex is this game, it looks like there’s a lot to do? Also with Jon’s vast knowledge of wrestling will we see him on Quizzlemania?? Lolol
LAURIE: The rules are actually pretty streamlined for this - so you can get going pretty quickly and then consult a separate rules reference booklet for specific situations which might come up

The traitor reveal from Adam was the most beautiful play I have ever seen, especially since it took everyone at the table by surprise. The buildup starts at 1:46:13.
9:26 shouldnt he have drawn cards first? Could you clarify? In the rulebook, Step 13 of setting up the game mentions that each player except the current player draws 5 cards so that the current player doesn't start the game with cards. However, once the game starts, the first step as mentioned in page 10 is to receive cards. So shouldn't the player have drawn 5 cards before taking actions? Because he didn't draw 5 cards, he was not helpful in the first round of mythos turns. Playing this game for the first time tomorrow so I wanna be sure :) Thanks! Nice playthrough by the way!

These in person playthroughs have really inspired me to crank out a few of my old favourites (Cosmic Encounter, Chinatown, For Sale), and get Unfathomable back to the table as well. It's easy to see why the Battlestar Galactica game it was based on was so beloved. I think you guys would love Spartacus: A Game of Blood and Treachery, it's another old beloved favourite and recently got a reprint. I advise playing to 10 or 11 points though just to keep the playtime snappy. I can see everyone having a blast trading gladiators, scheming against one another and gambling on the hilariously entertaining dice-chucking arena fights.

Jon is great role-playing in this game. He really is committing when they have to lose sanity.
He’s so good he’s getting type cast at this point.
In this episode Jon truly captures the slow descent into madness that is a hallmark of Lovecraft.
To be fair, Jon seems to do that with every game played on NRB
