- This is my first time in Jakarta Indonesia. In this Jakarta vlog I show you around the main areas of the city starting out at the Grand Hyatt next to the Kempinski then walking Jalan Jenderal Sudirman before heading over to Senopati and then into the Jakarta SCBD where I take you up onto the rooftop.

I got an apartment in Kempinski 48fl, but rented for 6mo with German guy. He works in German embassy, just opposite the Grand Indonesia

In Indonesia we learn english from elementary school until University. So basically there are many Indonesian know English but cant speak. Why? because we never practice our english outside the class. Every Indonesian at least mastery 2 language : 1. Bahasa Indonesia 2. Native Language ( there are 700 native language in Indonesia such as Java, Sunda, Bugis etc). In daily life we onlyh talk with those language thats why our english speaking is not improve. But still there are many Indonesian especially in Jakarta that can speak English fluently.

majority of indonesian are passive in english, we understand what you sayin, but most of us are not able to say it cause of the vocabulary limitation. just say some basic words, dont use too many grammars, they will understand. like if you wanna get some foods, just say “where to eat ?”
