Thankfully, I only read the transcript but thought I had missed something. This is a classic example of looking back at the past through the lens of today's woke standards. I grew up with Sullivan and only watched him because my parents and grandparents controlled the TV. He was something of a joke to us young folx. And we were not introduced to the Beatles or Black entertainers through Sullivan. The Beatles were our thing before they ever appeared on Ed. They may have been introduced to the older generation through his show, but not to us.

The BEST entertainment I remember was when we could pickup Minot ND on a clear day! Bullwinkle, Batman, Mickey Mouse Club caused ultimate excitement Saturday mornings and after school! Always in fuzzy black and white! Often too fuzzy to see but I listened anyhow lol. I don't even remember Rydell on Dick Van Dyke. Didn't see that many episodes. I STILL remember Mary Tyler Moore THOUGH!!! She was so skinny and HOT in that series I didn't even realize it was the same woman when she got her own SHOW. His biggest and most publicized feud was with singer Julius La Rosa. I find it absolutely astonishing that this wasn't mentioned in this falseumentary. The singer he couldn't stand was La Rosa, whom Sullivan felt had betrayed him. So many of the video segments bore no resemblance to the accompanying narrative. Kirk Douglas and Frank Sinatra were shown several times but never were mentioned. Basically, this was a shoddy presentation.

It sounds like his professional conflicts arose almost exclusively from his professionalism and desire to give his audience only the very best of performances. Nobody should find fault in their hearts with that.

Sullivan was a goo man and a legend.

"Die-a-hand" Carroll? Who the %#$@ is that? Obviously, you've never heard her name spoken before.

OK documentary, except that the singer he "couldn't stand" is never revealed, & b) the images very often don't fit the narration. When discussing the mental health issues of one guest, for instance, a picture of Elvis appears! There are also many shots of Elvis performing in Las Vegas rather than on the Ed Sullivan Show.

I love the announcers voice in these videos ,i wish I could place who it is, but having said that, these are Disjointed, clumsy and the miss pronunciations of names ,make these IMPOSSIBLE to watch.

A True Legend from the Golden Age of Television Broadcasting. I don't think anything on live TV today ever gets close to 74 million viewers, like the Beatles did. Click Bait title very misleading, but an interesting video nonetheless.

We need to listen 30 minutes of whatever before learning the answer to the title (if we do at all). Pay attention: GOLDEN REWIND is the site. Ignore it.
