How do we gauge if we're going to have a N leaching problem? Or in other words how do we know if we're doing a good enough job holding soil nutrients? Isn't cation exchange capacity directly correlated with what the soil is able to hold without leaching away?
Brent- we recommend you contact your local extension office and ask to be put in touch with a university soils specialist familiar with your soil types. They'll have more information on management options that can reduce leaching.
