    Sometimes I’m puffy and sometimes I’m hollow under my eyes and sometimes it changes throughout the day. The darkness is more often a shadow than thinness. It’s tough to find something that suits every day. To add to the complexity of the situation is my crinkles, eye movement and the need to moisturize but de puff. I’ve had the most success with Caliray lately. The Sigma light/medium formula is quite nice. I also have used the NARS radiant concealer in different shades successfully. I have a handful of minis in different shades.

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes! I've also had to start switching things up to compensate for puffiness, and having different shades has helped. I'll often switch up placement of the corrector and my summer and winter shades of concealer to create an illusion of more smoothness. It's like a really dynamic art project. 😂

    I always love a color corrector video! It's so hard to find complexion products that are just right. Out of the cream color correctors I have tried, I do think the CT one is the best formula. I'm so happy it works for you! Unfortunately, the colors available never worked for me (I need more of a medium pink with zero peach/orange tones), so I've stuck with the Bobbi Brown one in light bisque (which tbh is still a little too peach for me, and the texture of the product is slightly thicker on the skin than CT). I've never successfully gotten any of the cream formulas to layer under anything else without giving lots of texture though. The Huda liquid correctors get the thinnest of any I've tried, and are the only ones I can use for layering. Thank you for your reviews on these products! I always enjoy watching your thoughtful videos 🥰

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  7 месяцев назад +1

      CT really did an exceptional job with the formula. I wish she would come out with a whole range of color correctors in more shades (including a green version).
      I tried the Bobbi Brown potted corrector years ago (do you use the stick or potted version?) and agree that it is slightly thicker on the skin - almost "sticky" in comparison.
      I had the opportunity to swatch the Huda liquid correctors once and they seemed really thin and smooth, offering more coverage. I am honestly a little curious to try them, but now that I've found a corrector I'm so happy with, I don't think I'll stray from it.
      I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking a moment to leave such a thoughtful response. 💛

    • @blathering.

      @@TheStyleStumbler Omg, I would love a CT green corrector!
      I have both the stick and the potted Bobbi Brown correctors in light bisque because I couldn't figure out which formula I liked better in store. I mostly use the potted one now since it can go on thinner while the stick one stays quite thick on me (and looks dry?) and can really age my under eyes. The potted one is probably the closest to CT but it is more sticky and thicker.
      The Huda ones are very nice for layering, but now that I think about it, they may be too dark/saturated for your preferences. I was surprised especially with the pink one (Cherry Blossom) since pink correctors tend to have an incredibly strong white base and this one did not (on my skin tone). However, I could not wear the Huda ones alone without concealer since they were too dark and/or saturated for my light/medium skin tone.

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  7 месяцев назад

      @@blathering. That's true - the Huda correctors might be too saturated for my tastes. Just swatching them in store wasn't really enough to solidify my thoughts on it. But since I now have my favorite, luckily I don't have to search any more.
      Let's petition CT for a green corrector! ;-)

    I have used the Bobbi Brown under eye corrector in the pot forever. I do mean this one pot forever. I almost bought a backup during the last Fall Sephora sale when I had major, major pan and thought it was on its final uses…6 months later it’s still going strong. I will never finish this. There is wizardry in this product.😂 It’s just as well because it seems to work for me very well. There might be newer or better formulas out there, but it will probably be another year or so before I have a chance to find out! 😂 When (if?) the time comes I might try the CT!

    • @TheStyleStumbler

      This is SO RELATABLE! 😂 Once I see pan on a product, I think it's almost gone. I really have to force myself to remember that the stuff around the edges takes a whole lot of time to use up, too!
      I've tried the Bobbi Brown potted undereye corrector years ago. If my memory serves me correctly, I found a good color match in that one. I remember the formula being a bit heavier and stickier than the CT, but I've never compared them directly.

    I'm so tired of late I feel like the dark circles around my eyes would fall somewhere between raccoon and a Lone Ranger mask.
    It's interesting to see the differences between the swatches and when you have the product on your face. The wear videos really go well with your explanation of each product. I also noticed how visible some of them were when you look down facing the camera. It's a good angle for showing the texture and finish.
    Salmon as a shade name for anything seems like a real turn off. once you start thinking of fish, who knows were the mind will wander...
    Your comment on keeping the Clinque concealer as default for lack of strong feeling is thought provoking. I've had the same thing happen. It's only later when I come across the thing and remove it from it's in situ location that I can make better decision on it.
    This video reminds me of when I was made up to look like a zombie for a Halloween themed video in high school and when it took a few days to wash off all the residual makeup from around my eyes, people thought I looked sickly.
    👀👀 This video was a much needed 20 minute island of calm at the end of a long day.

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  7 месяцев назад +1

      Sounds like you need some color corrector, Mr Lone Ranger! I've had several of my colleagues come to me for help with this when we're on tour (and EXHAUSTED). Many of them don't want to look like they're wearing makeup, so we just do a little bit of color correcting under the eyes and leave it at that. Although the tortured look of a racoon also has its own special something - like you live on the wild side.
      Thanks for your feedback on the swatches and wear shots - I'm still trying to find a balance of how much product to apply when showing it on the face. In "real life" I don't apply something like this thickly enough to be visible, but the whole point of videos like this is so that people can see the texture, which only really works when it's built up a bit. Plus: cameras pick up things differently than our eyes. Trying to overapply just enough so that the camera can show the color and texture is so much harder than I ever thought it would be. But I was somewhat happy with the results, despite the corrupt footage.
      Yeah... fish and cosmetics. Not categories that should mix. In fact fish and most things.
