- The alligator gar may be more of a "gentle giant" than a "river monster," but its sheer size and toothy snout have given it a bad rap over the years. Now, however, more anglers are pursuing gar, and biologists are beginning to learn more about this fascinating denizen of the deep.
I have loved catching them for years. A great sportfish,deserves much more respect than they have gotten over the years.
I'd like to see bow fishing for them outlawed.
My Dad used to take me fishing for Gar on the Sabine River. Great fighting fish.

Dude I've been trying to get out on the trinity for a while now but in dallas it's taboo due to pollution but I've been there scouting and with all the rain it's seems pretty clean to me

Dude, I'm disabled from South Texas, I'm a traveler, I volunteer all over in the states and Mexico in conservation deals like this, specially when it comes to fish conservation and specially in Texas !! I'm willing to volunteer like full time in this program as long as I get a permit to camp out somewhere legal , I'm also an avid camper , and or with a place I can shop close by, i don't drive , only walk 😬
