90s JGTC has to be best mix of cars ever on one track - classic Japanese machines on same track with Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, and Lamborghini - insanity! Drivers didn’t mess around either - banging wheels and trying crazy overtakes :)
Like dude I watched everything I could about the 95 season on yt couple months back... the only I can do is bow my head and wonder what the hell happened to motorsports nowdays
Crazy that the supra beat these cars with just 4 cylinders. Really shows what race engine platforms are the best. Why have heavy v10s or large I line 6s when you can just boost a four cylinder to the moon and call it a day.
@@dailydoseofsmoke.6717 all the factory backed supras in the 90s were 4 cylinders. Toyota even made a few on the production lines for higher ups at Toyota. Much faster around a track than the 2jz.
@@dailydoseofsmoke.6717 check out the denso sard supra or the pikes peak Tacoma. Both of which were also powered by factory 3s or 4s 4 cylinder Toyota motors.

At 1:21 One of these things is not like the other... Supra...Skyline...Supra, Supra...Skyline...Skyline, Skyline... I ALMOST spat out my coffee when I saw that the yellow frikin' Lamborghini is able to race in this 500 class. I imagine it's NOT something you'd see everyday.
It's probably pretty heavy though with that V12... after reading into the series, top speed is not as important as high speed cornering and acceleration which the turbo cars had in abundance.
To be fair the second one wasn't his fault, the other Supra didn't pay attention and slammed on him entering the corner. The first one though, that was just plain murder lmao
Can someone explain something to me? The JGTC cars from this era, were those silhouette cars, with tub chassis', or were they based off the production cars? I know that now they are like the DTM cars, in that they have very little to do with production vehicles, and are more bespoke race cars..
For example: the RX7 most likely used a 20B engine from the Eunos Cosmo, the Toyotas all used a variation of a 5SGTE (MR2/Celica architecture engine, but with special bespoke internals and aluminium blocks) the Nissan's I'm pretty sure are the only ones to actually use the RB26 engines that came with the skylines but with upgraded internals.
And the European cars I'm pretty sure were all just bone stock with a bit of extra modification for engine and brake cooling management (modified body panels, cooling etc.)
It's funny how many people think this is a jz supra. I had a guy threaten to punch me over cause I didn't know shit bout Toyota. 3sgte. 2 liter 4 banger.
safety cars a supra!!!!!!! an F40 losing a bkoody wheel , an r34 crashing into the rails , i mean where was i whole time why didnt youtube recommend me this like 3 yrs ago
