I actually worked with Lauren about six years ago right before she moved to Toronto to work for rebel media. We used to have some interesting conversations, as you could imagine she was obsessed with politics and political science; it was all you could talk to her about.
She would’ve been about 21 years old at the time, and I remember telling her that she was a little bit too young and a little bit too naïve to be thinking she had the solution to all the worlds problems. I told her she needed to get on a plane and go and live and work in some other countries for starters.
The problem with political discourse in America is it so aggressive and divided, it’s all us versus them; it’s a battle to the death between two Giants. In other countries people are able to have more civilized conversations about politics and they are able to put themselves in the other guys shoes and even demonstrate some empathy and compassion. This simply lacks in American politics
Sadly, Lauren got pulled into that American world, the Fox News/Ann Coulter way of expressing herself. It seems to be all the rage, it’s so aggressive and so attacking. You are either left wing or right wing and nothing else
I think over time Lauren will shift more and more to the center, she is still very young and just needs to mature more. And she will. Having children will probably shift her political leanings as well as it tends to do

There are a lot of older women on the right with families, if anything, people become more conservative as they age, complete opposite of what you said. This is not always the case of course
Very well said. I also went through my own "right-wing/anti-SJW" phase (I would say I was a right-libertarian at most - I never got as far into it as some others have), and can fully vouch for the fact that a giant rabbit hole exists within so many online right-wing circles. Several other commentators have made videos describing this (a RUclipsr called Three Arrows does an excellent breakdown), but there is a definite step-by-step brainwashing process that I have seen many people get sucked into.
It usually starts with convincing people that the left's identity politics is bad (usually with instances of fringe movements that do not really represent the status quo, such as crazy feminists, ANTIFA, etc.). That very often branches into convincing interested people that immigration and globalization are bad and that our governments are overtaking us with some sort of post-modern tyranny. Once you've bought into those points, it's far less jarring to subscribe to the belief that white people are being phased out of society and that this "tyranny" should be countered with white nationalism, "white ethnostates" and similarly authoritarian approaches.
It's always been my belief that Lauren started off as a nice, intelligent girl with moderately conservative beliefs - but that like many others, she got sucked into this rabbit hole because she was obviously quite young and impressionable. The fact that she generated a huge online following and became a spokesperson for many of these beliefs probably only furthered her journey down the hole.

TMK he started planning the attacks before Borderless came out, so I don't think you can really pin that on her, and the main people who should be blamed aside from of course the shooter would be European politicians who have spent more time trying to cover up how bad it is and prosecute whistleblowers than actually trying to fix things like migrant crime, no-go zones etc.

Reacting in this way only supplies such individuals, no matter their political persuasion, with the ammunition to pain themselves as the heroic victims, the underdog fighting against an oppressive minority, and as liberals, we should know how powerful such rhetoric is. Another case of a smart but naive person who thought it would be a good idea to get some attention by cultivating an 'unorthodox' position. And then massively encouraged and enhanced by the media. There has been a huge abandonment of responsibility by the elites (corporations, journalists, politicians)

That's would just be an exercise in the golden mean fallacy . Such "balance" presentation would be equating nazis with progressivism, which irionically isn't balanced view at all
@@jasonbolding3481 Do you even know what a "golden mean fallacy" is? Presenting two sides of an argument does not imply that you then take a moderate position between positions. It DOES mean you get to understand BOTH sides and then make a learned and reasoned decision which side to choose.

It's interesting to see the Left-wing take on the Right. One thing I feel is that it's always wrong. I've never seen any instance where the Left understands the Right, and therefore their analysis always seems slanted and off base. It's sad.

I was genuinely curious because I think empathy is important but she isn’t asking for empathy to change in any significant way - she will keep saying and doing destructive things because she can only see the world from her privileged position and she won’t admit any wrong. Just like every other schmuck in this doco I assume?
