Dang ... there are so many of these toys that I had forgotten ... but I remember them now! It's quite odd that Laser Tag didn't make this list, though.
Yeah, they were already seriously restricted by 1970. Honestly though I think the danger was over rated. They were perfectly fine as long as you didn't throw them at anybody. In my family we played with them all the way through the 1970s until they finally wore out and all the plastic fins were all broken. It wasn't until the late 1980s before some kid in California got killed with one of them and they were finally banned.
My daughter's Sky Dancer got tangled in her hair. And there was a reason the Original Easy Bake Oven was stopped in the 60s. Clackers were from the early 70s, not the 80s.
First off, the cabbage patch eating dolls did not get released on the market until 95 not the eighties, as well as sky dancers were in the 90’s as well, around 96
Superelasticbubbleplastic came out before the 80's..I never knew anyone that was able to blow more than an apple sized bubble..before it busted..let alone ..the size of a ball..to bounce around..even the apple sized ballon ..it busted most of the time before you could get it off of the hard straw..
Speaking of chucky my crazy parents bought me a my buddy dolll the Christmas after childs play came out 🤣🤣🤣 and im from Chicago i was on the set if the movie my pops did security on the movie scared me for life🤣🤣
Yes. I can see giving weapons to kids and families that have zero social skills, anger issues, zero responsibility is a fantastic idea. What could possibly go wrong? Apparently, you either don't get out much anymore, or fail to see how people have changed. Naw, it's all good.
Us 80s kids: _"You get busy living or get busy dying"_ lol. There was that whole half-a-Tennisball PLOP thing. You flip it inside-out, put it on the table and wait until somebody starts to cry. But don't worry, piercing a whole in it makes it 1% safer, lol.

We also had SuperElasticBubble Plastic in the late 60s. My dad was a chemical engineer. He took it away from us and told us never to buy it again.
Lawn darts started in the 60s.

I bought my niece Teddy and Grubby..the real ones for her first Christmas..the year they came out..

Electric racing set smell brings back memories
This commentary is HILARIOUS but true. 😂😂

Can confirm: Sky Dancers were a 90s toy, lol
An episode of Dexter's Laboratory had a thrown out toy, resembling a Cabbage Patch Kids doll, eating one of Dee Dee’s pigtails.
Lawn darts weren’t dangerous, people just weren’t responsible
We had Slime in the late 70s and Clackers in the 60s.
Great video but I think most of this was from before the 1980s and some of it from after.
lawn darts still exist. They just have a soft ball at the end instead of sharp pointy things
Over inthusatic sword play is wild work as a guy i chuckled 🤣🤣
I fondly remember lawn darts games of chicken

Lawn Darts should still exist
I agree. They were fun, as long as you didn't throw them at anybody.
