I've just started my bronze badge, and I signed up for environmental. I have a few questions: 1) What skills should I focus on around the environment? I was thinking orienteering, but that is a bit tricky to do since I live in a city(ish) area. 2) For physical, I was going to do hiking, then help clean up the tracks while I was doing it, but I don't know how I'm going to do that for 3 months. Could I do something environmental thats on a bike/skateboard or something? 3) for volunteer work, I was going to go around different schools, and help them with their gardening and maybe teach students about the environment, but the problem is that I still go to school. (Maybe I could do zooms with them during my lunch break, or film videos, and ask for a video of the classes back? but I don't know.) 4) My physical rec was going to be biking the A20, but thats less than 3 days/2 days 1 night. I was thinking of changing it to orienteering, but I don't know much about it. I was also thinking of signing up to a camp during the holidays, if that was in the green zone? Sorry if this comment is so big, I just wanted to ask my fellow Bronze badges, if any of you guys have any ideas! Apart from that, I'm incredibly excited to start my journey!!
Hi there! The current Welcome Pack, which includes the participation fee, is £24.00 for the Bronze Award, £24.00 for Silver and £31.00 for Gold. There may be additional costs for activities and Licensed Organisations that run the DofE, such as schools, may add a small fee to cover administration costs etc. If a school, club or other operator charges you more than this, it is because they include additional costs to them, such as transport or expedition etc. They must tell you of any additional costs and what they cover.
Can you do different volunteering types each week (e.g litter picking one week and then something the other week) or do you have to stick to the same type ?
What are some other examples that would count as a skill? I'm really intrested and good at cooking but not sure how to incorporate that into the program
Hi there, if your school doesn't offer DofE you can do it through a national youth group like the Scouts, you can also do it through your local youth club if they have a license. More info here: www.dofe.org/do/where/

Around £300-350 all in would be an average for an external provider / award fees and all kit etc
You have to pay for this?? Nah. Its bascially school but outside of school.

Do you have to pay for the expedition? If so, how much is it?
I believe you do, at least for our school. The price we have to pay is £50.
@@DeadlyTiger468 thank you! ours is slightly more expensive. It’s £88 for the enrolment fee and the expedition is £230-£250 :)
Hi Haleema, every Licensed Organisation is responsible for their DofE prices, so these often range depending on where you do your DofE.
Where can you find a list of Licensed Organisations?@@theDofEUK
Are you aloud to do airsoft as your physical
Yes you can!
