Very beautiful, I am thinking to try this at home, Can you give me a rough indiction of the height of the tree and the size of the palm leaves I should buy? Also are these artificial?
Thank you so much! The Pineapple Palm Tree is over 4 feet tall and makes a great centerpiece for a buffet table, etc. I used real palm leaves that I ordered from my local florist for about $1 each. They will last about a week if you put them in water. These were the small palm leaves ( my florist said he could get them in two sizes)
Thanks I did make this, it looked very beautiful but next time I will try to use more leaves about 10-12 palm leaves, I think yours were a great size mines were a bit thinner, I couldn't find some like yours, however can I use artifical palm leaves next time? yes I bought mine for the same price too.

This really is very easy! The only thing to remember is that you cannot cut the pineapples ahead of time--like the day before. I did that once and kept them in the refrigerator and they got mushy. Other than that, this is a snap to make!

that were very nice and easy I were gonna pay someone to make me a fruit table for my wedding this August but now that I watched your video I can create that myself to save money it were very easy and convince but where can I get the real leaves from

You cannot make this the night before. You can make it a few hours before your party.

Do you think I could make it with 5-8 hours ahead of time ? Or do u think it would get mushy?
This needs to be made right before the party. It will last for a few hours but can’t be made too much ahead.
I did not string the lights on the pineapple palm tree -- but you could do that. The lights you see are actually branches I brought into the porch and attached to the wall. I strung the lights on those branches and the pineapple palm tree is sitting in front of the tree branches.

You can find the artificial palm leaves on the internet. I finally ordered the artificial leaves because I make the palm tress often and it was just more cost efficient.
How do you keep the freshly cut pineapples from leaking all in the tray once it's all done?
I use a tray with a raised edge to catch any juice. It will last several hours without any problems.

This is surprisingly steady. However, you cannot cut the pineapple ahead of time. You have to cut it and assemble right before serving. I made the mistake one time of trying to cut the pineapple ahead of time and refrigerate it and then assemble a few hours later and the pineapple gets mushy. (I was making this on LIVE TV and I had to be at the studio at 5:30 AM ) So... as long as you cut and assemble and serve, the Pineapple Palm Tree will be steady. Enjoy!

Wow, I made this comment 4 years ago. I'm not sure but I think I was disappointed that I couldnt eat the wasted pineapple. They are so delish. I wouldn't be able to waste a drop.
Be aware this isn't as clean and simple as shown. There is pineapple juice running everywhere.
Mom Spiro Actually this is as clean and simple as it looks. However, you cannot make it ahead of time or the pineapple juice will make a mess. My high school culinary arts students make this every year for their Open House....Simple.
