Genialne Drzewiaste Jeżozwierze.... mega-turbo-zaje....sta płyta... (dzięki, Cichy...) This is the kind of music that is evergreen, brilliant and so much amazing, like no other. Greetings from Poland for PT and PT's fans. Masterpiece!!!
One of the many reasons one should be admiring PF is for inspiring such magnificent bands as Porcupine Tree! BTW they were absolutely fantastic last night in Athens!
My brother dropped acid in the middle of BFE Oregon... At night in the forest... He got lost in the forest and said the only way he got through the night is that he laid down on the forest floor, popped in his iPod and put this on... He fell asleep like a baby and woke up six hours later four miles from camp... Porcupine Tree saved my brothers life...
I got into a car accident while listening to this song and I think it saved my life because I was so relaxed when it happened I didn't tense up or anything, I just let the car do it's thing and I came out unscathed.....
I love how 1. I adore this song because it is amazing..well the whole album is.. and 2. My real name is Bryan xD I got a bit freaked when I heard this the first time and though it was about me
@SebVettel18 I Swear I've compared both at same time, and they're different. I love Another brick on t wall.. I love Voyage 34! But influences are permited ;o)
This song has all the riff from Pink Floyd's "Happiest days of our lives" and even the laugh, not that it's something wrong with that, on the contrary, Porcupine Tree must admire and respect Pink Floyd very much. Like the rest of us and the music world.
@Capuano231 i agree, Pink Floyd is my favourite band. Porcupine Tree is good (not as good as Pink Floyd). However, this "phase" of voyage 34 has a repetitive riff stolen (almost exactly the same) as Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in The Wall (Part 1)". Listen to it and you'll hear the similarity.
The way I've always interpreted it is that Pink Floyd is often associated with drug use, and I'm guessing a relatively large number of PF fans have gotten high while listening to them. So it only makes sense to use a riff reminiscent of one PF's most popular songs in a song dealing with drugs. I don't see why anyone cares, classical composers openly borrowed from each other's compositions all the time.
I don't see how Steven Wilson, as educated and aware of prog music as he is, could write this song without knowing how much of a Pink Floyd ripoff it is.
I first heard this a couple of days ago, and I have to say this is the best song I have ever heard. And I have heard quite a lot.
This is one fantastic Voyage that deserves far more recognition and attention than just 12K+ views (listens). Very emotional, I feel it.

@slideon Was light sarcasm conveyed through feigning being inquisitive.
cool story bro
When does it sound like Plague of the Lighthouse Keepers? I don't really hear a similarity.
acid is the perfect drug. and i wish nin would play "the perfect drug" in concert so i could fucking hear it live!
2:00 sounds like Pink Floyd - The Happiest Days of Our Lives
hmm... sounds like Porcupine Tree.
I love how my name is in this song :]
1:58 sounds just like Another Brick in the Wall Part 1
steven wilson est le digne héritier de pink floyd et du rock progressif seventies dans son ensemble.
Cypress Hill - Illusion
This song has all the riff from Pink Floyd's "Happiest days of our lives" and even the laugh, not that it's something wrong with that, on the contrary, Porcupine Tree must admire and respect Pink Floyd very much. Like the rest of us and the music world.
The Pink Floyd-ish guitar bit was probably subconsciously picked up by Steven Wilson, still it's pretty amazing where he took it.
Yeah, but is this trip really necessary?
Shame this stops right in the middle of the guitar solo, thats the best bit!
@aryman79 the Album man was refered as a tribute to Pink floyd and LSD..it is not stolen..Learn first then speak..
Brainticket!

It doesn't matter if it sounds like Pink Floyd.
It's done good instead of all other rip-offs.
where the hell is phase 2!?
Fucking sweeeet
We don't need no education that's not based on that kind of music.
Haha, another another brick in the wall.
@Blink182plus44equ226 i see
When we grew and went to school, there were certain teachers who would hurt the children in any way they could...
Oops, wrong song.

the song contains stolen female vocals from ,,As the bell rings'' of Dead Can Dance. Plus the guitar sounds like stolen from David gilmour. bad.
@KapustaCuber LOL
Natural Drug
Wtf is Pink Floyd? Porcupine Tree is all that u need, dude.
@shabutie
and you are, get an ear
tribute to pink floyd or just coincidence? hahahaha yeah porcupine tree!
I don't see how Steven Wilson, as educated and aware of prog music as he is, could write this song without knowing how much of a Pink Floyd ripoff it is.
Im pretty sure he was.
You can't have the 'complete trip' without the sound of Floyd now can you?
Ripoff? You mean homage?
