Easy arm stretches to warm up for pickleball!

  • You ought to warm up your shoulders prior to playing pickleball. The following are four easy and quick warm up exercises you can do before playing.
    1. Arms up at 90⁰ with palms facing forward. Squeeze arms together and bring them back to starting position. 10 repetitions.
    2. Arms at 90⁰ with gand up and palms forward. Drop hands down to face palms backwards, while leaving the elbows parallel with the shoulders.
    3. Reverse arm circles, one at a time, as if doing the backstroke.
    4. Alternating straight arm stretches. Hold Arms straight out in front, parallel with the shoulders, with thumbs pointing straight up. Right arm goes straight back and left thumb points downward and the arm goes downward and back, past the left hip. Come back to neutral and switch hands.
    These stretches will help prevent shoulder injuries, in particular the rotator cuffs.
