Thank You so much for this lovely christening of the little Princess of Denmark. The Danish psalms and hymns are so beautiful. I myself - and many others - would be so greatful if some kind soul from the Kingdom of Denmark could provide us Aussies with the full christening ceremony of Prince Christian of Denmark as well! I'm confused about one thing. Princess Mathilde of Belgium (now Queen Mathilde) is Roman Catholic, isn't she ? Why was she chosen then to be a godmother in a Lutheran christening ? Also, why does the priest (bishop ?) turn to the altar and doesn't face the congregation while the hymn is being sung ? I noticed that also in Frederik's wedding. Is it a common feature of Danish Lutheran liturgy ? It looks very medieval, especially for a church that sprung from the Reformation.
