I bought this generator - identical except for the 'Kingcraft' brand - from Aldi about 16 years ago. Never had any problem, other than a slight surge while it was warming up. However, I did go over it to check the hardware, as I heard some users of these Chinese Generators had problems with brackets and fasteners breaking after prolonged use during Katrina. I found the bracket holding the big muffler to the generator housing had slotted holes with just plain bolts holding it. So I added flat washers to those for better support. Also, something I do with most power equipment that has a fuel cut-off, I shut it down by turning off the gas and let the engine use up the gas in the carburetor. If I'm ready to put it away, I also drain the tank. No telling when I'm going to use it again, so it prevents the gasohol from going bad, eating up the carb and building-up condensation in the tank.
Fantastic video! Exactly my model, my problem, and very clear and thorough instructions. Just saved me a bunch of $$$. One helpful tip... I used the sealant method and it expanded inside preventing floater from cutting off gas and resulted in the carburator still leaking. Be sure the floater is free when you put back together (I shook it to hear for shaking).
Your cat is big! Looks like the leaks are under control. Twenty years ago, I was given a 750 watt small cheapie gas generator with the same issues. Replaced the petcock, cleaned the bowl and replaced the bowl gasket. Worked for about 7 years (I used it for ham and swap meet events) then still ran, but did not generate any power. just gave up and scrapped it.
Had a leaky petcock on my *new* Allpower. They have a definite problem with that part. But I found a replacement that fixed the problem. Hope you are not having any additional issues.
Helpful! Came home to my wife saying the basement smelled like gas. Went downstairs to find a small puddle of gas under the generator. Low and behold it had been stored with the petcock open. My guess is the fuel sitting in the carburetor degraded the gasket?
Awesome video. I have the exact generator but haven't run into this problem..yet. I'm about to attempt an oil change and would like to see video on that if possible..... Update: oil change was pretty simple.
Make sure its not dripping from the petcock and just getting into the air box somehow. If the petcock is OK, then the floats in your carburetor might be stuck or you may have a leak in the rubber line that connects the gas tank to the carburetor.
Carlos Martínez y sus teclados other reviews say the carburetor needle is leaking - I cleaned the brass seat in the carburetor and replaced the gas needle with a expensive honda plastic needle - still leaks out the carburetor - must be a factory defect there are a lot of these carburetor’s that leak . May have to shut off gas when done- drain the carb so the gas doesn’t plug up the jets when the gas turns sour If It sits for a while.
aha so now I know my carburetor leaks because of gasket I never did that kind of repairs I just wanted to use my generator today and after 5 min he shut off so I inspected it and there is a huge leak from carburetor it's like water coming out of the faucet
AS our only small engine repair shop provides the same Chinese made aftermarket parts, I can buy from Amazon but at OEM retail prices , I would rather use amazon.
Thanks for the info. It was very helpful. Also great trick with the changing license plates!

Nice work on the repair. It's amazing what people will junk for a small issue like this.

Direct and to the point. Great video
We love what you are doing here! Great job!

Awesome! Exactly same type generator I got with same issue.
same generator same carb leak

I'm not the only nut who puts his cat on a collar and leash. Yay
Nicely done 👍🏽

Nice leash on the kitty. I have two cats. How long of a leash would I need to put on them?
What size spring clips are those
What if the bowl won't sit on the carb. What can I do?
7:27 Choke lever.
10:13 Yup, choke lever. 😀
Good fix, always something
Thanks bro! It really helped me Alot!❤️❤️❤️
Most likely cause of leaking fuel from carb is the needle value on the float is not sealing and allowing the bowl to over fill.
Is the on off switch a four wire?
I never looked at it
Thanks, great detail.
Could you help me in one more thing?
My generator is leaking the fuel exactly like this and it is not starting?
Nice video.
Really helpful
I Appreciate you, thank you very much
Please someone tell me, how many times should I change the engine oil and at what time.
And how much should I put 2 times oil to gasoline?
DO NOT PUT OIL IN THE GAS. This is a 4 stroke engine and takes straight gasoline. Search for an owner's manual for your other questions.
I have a generator that looks same as yours. But mine is leaking gas from the air box. What would it be the problem any ideas ?

SevenFortyOne thanks for your
Help I’ll try to take a look at it and see if that’s the problem.

Is 5w30 or 10w30 recommended for this engine?
My manual calls for 10w-30
Good good
