@@ahmody7500 yeah, you never really know who invented what first, as long as the person that tries something makes it known to others before the original maker (or is more popular) it'll go down differently in history. Kind of like the movie Coco, Coco's father was the original singer but generations after his death, the people knew his "friend" to be the original singer, I'm not saying you can go back in time or into a dead land to find out what really happened, I'm just saying that you can never really know. Some kid in africa could've invented it first but others took the logic and then someone with a bit of power then said 'I invented this', we'll never know🤷🏽♀️

School Researchers probably made their own invention, just like us, Garde 8 pupils, we make our own research/experiment where no one has ever done. For example, turning sea shells into chalks. There is also a possibility that a scientist figured out the chemical that is used to turn the log chips into "liquids"

I worked in a paper mill, the first 8 years from the yard unloading chips from the boxcars to the pulp mill to the paper machines (4th hand) to finishing room, loading trucks and rail cars. Then I moved into the maintenance department and did vibration analysis for 10 years. The paper mill is a most fascinating, captivating enterprise. The imaginations of people who invented all the processes in it still makes me awestruck.

I am an electrician and i did a job at a paper mill, i can say it was pretty disgusting with all the chemicals laying spilling in the floor, crazy nasty smells and some foamy spongy fluids spills. I can say the amount of contamination it crates only to make paper is not worth it

Well, it started with wind-powered grain mills, I'd imagine. Taking an existing concept, then expanding on it by applying the mechanical advantages of the industrial age, then refining the technology over time.

Pulp is also made from sugarcane waste (baggase) with similar digester, washing and bleaching systems. Same machineries can be used for both wood and baggase pulps and then eventually to paper
